Anker SOLIX X1 H5K 5kW Hybrid Inverter and B5H Battery Storage Package

This is the Anker SOLIX X1 bought as a working system rather than piece by piece: the H5K 5kW single-phase power module together with the X1-B5-H battery modules that stack beneath it. Choose how much storage goes in the first order, and add modules later as the household's demand grows.

What each package holds

Each B5-H module carries 5kWh, so the step between the two packages is two further modules. Buying the storage up front costs less per kWh than adding it in a second visit, because the labour and the scaffolding are already paid for.

Which size suits

• 5kWh – covers an evening and overnight for a modest household, or a first step for someone who wants to prove the system before committing further
• 15kWh – a house on a time-of-use tariff charging overnight and running through the next day, or a larger array with real surplus to bank
• Solar panels, mounting and DC cabling – this is the inverter and storage half of the system
• Installation and DNO notification under G98 or G99, depending on the inverter rating

Size it against the daily consumption in kWh on a winter week's meter readings rather than against the array, because that is when the battery is working hardest.
