Anker Solix H5K 5kW Inverter and 5kWh B5H Storage package

Anker SOLIX X1-B5-H battery — 5 kWh a module, one to six a system, IP66 and thermal boosting to −20 °C.

A battery pays for itself by moving energy in time: solar generated at midday and electricity bought on an overnight rate, both spent in the evening. What decides whether it pays is the usable capacity, the charge rate and the cycle life.

Overview

About the Anker SOLIX X1-B5-H battery

The X1-B5-H is Anker's 5 kWh LFP module. One to six of them stack under an X1 power module, so a system runs from 5 to 30 kWh, and beyond three modules the stack becomes two columns rather than one tall one.

Thermal Boosting Technology is the feature that matters on a British install: the module is rated to operate down to −20 °C, where an unheated battery would stop charging at zero.

IP66, up to 4,000 m altitude with derating above 2,000, and a ten-year warranty.

Which inverter will run this battery?

This is an Anker SOLIX X1 stack: 5 kWh LFP modules under an X1 power module.

5 kWh per module, 5 to 30 kWh per system (1 to 6 modules). Single phase charge window 390 – 550 Vdc and discharge 370 – 500 Vdc; three phase 350 – 450 Vdc. 3 kW and 7.6 A maximum per module.

Hybrid inverter platforms in our range that take this architecture:

For the installer

Stack rules, cabling and what else the job needs

The details that decide whether this battery suits the system:

  • 5 kWh a module, 3 kW and 7.6 A maximum charge or discharge per module. One to six modules a system, 5 to 30 kWh.
  • Battery voltage range 350 – 550 Vdc. On a single-phase X1 the charge window is 390 – 550 V and the discharge window 370 – 500 V; on three phase it is 350 – 450 V.
  • Four modules and above are a two-column installation.
  • 670 × 360 × 150 mm and 51 kg a module. A complete system including the floor mounting base and top cover is 73.5 kg at one module rising to 334 kg at six.
  • −20 to +55 °C operating. IP66. Altitude to 4,000 m with power derating from 2,000 m.
  • Where a listing bundles a power module, the system's continuous output is the power module's rating, not the sum of the modules: an X1-H5K-S is 5 kW and an X1-H6K-S is 6 kW however much battery is under it.
  • Ten-year warranty under the Anker SOLIX X1 warranty policy.

Frequently asked questions

Questions we get asked about this inverter

Is one module a system?

No. An X1 system is one to six battery modules plus an X1 power module, which is the inverter. Several of our listings bundle the two.

How big can it get?

Six modules, 30 kWh. Four and above are installed as two columns.

Will it charge in the cold?

Anker rate the module to −20 °C using Thermal Boosting Technology, which is well below the 0 °C at which an unheated lithium battery stops charging.

Can it go outside?

Yes. IP66, −20 to +55 °C.

How much of it can I use?

The module's design capacity is 5 kWh; Anker note that the actual capacity varies with temperature, transport and storage conditions.
