Last Updated: July 2026. These Terms may be updated from time to time. Where changes are made, the revised version will be published on this page with an updated revision date. Changes to these Terms will not retrospectively alter an order or contract that has already been accepted, except where permitted by law or where the parties otherwise agree.

Product Information, Specifications & Technical Advice

Product Information

We make reasonable efforts to ensure that product descriptions, images, specifications, availability information and pricing displayed on our website are accurate.

However, manufacturers may change product specifications, packaging, labels, accessories, firmware, dimensions or other features without notice to us.

Accordingly:

  • Product images may be illustrative and actual products may differ in appearance
  • Packaging and labels may vary between manufacturing batches
  • Accessories supplied with products may change following manufacturer revisions
  • Manufacturer specifications may be updated from time to time
  • Stock availability displayed online may not always represent confirmed physical stock until an order has been accepted
Technical Specifications: It is the customer's responsibility to verify that products meet the technical requirements of the intended installation. If you are unsure about a product specification, compatibility or installation requirement, contact our sales team before placing an order.

Technical Advice

Any technical information, guidance, compatibility information or recommendations provided by ClearRay Solar are given in good faith based on the information available to us and the information supplied by the customer.

Unless expressly agreed otherwise in writing, such information does not constitute a complete system design, engineering design, structural assessment, electrical design, MCS design or professional installation service.

The customer and/or their appointed competent installer remains responsible for verifying product suitability, system design, compatibility and compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, standards and manufacturer requirements before installation.

Electrical Installation

Many products sold by ClearRay Solar must be installed, commissioned and configured by suitably qualified or authorised persons.

Products must be installed in accordance with applicable legislation, electrical regulations, building regulations, manufacturer instructions and any applicable network or certification requirements.

Improper installation may create safety risks, affect system performance and may affect the manufacturer's warranty.

System Design & Product Compatibility

ClearRay Solar supplies individual components and complete system packages.

Unless expressly agreed in writing as part of a design service, the customer remains responsible for ensuring that all selected products are compatible with each other and suitable for the intended installation.

Any compatibility information supplied by ClearRay Solar should be independently verified by the competent installer before installation.

Pricing, Payment & Order Acceptance

Price Terms

  • All prices are displayed in GBP unless otherwise stated
  • Prices will indicate whether VAT is included or excluded where applicable
  • Prices displayed on the website may change from time to time
  • A price displayed on the website does not by itself constitute acceptance of an order
  • We reserve the right to correct genuine pricing, description or availability errors before an order is accepted
  • Any promotional pricing is subject to the conditions stated with the relevant promotion

Payment Processing

  • Payment must normally be received before an order is processed unless credit terms have been expressly agreed
  • We accept the payment methods displayed during checkout
  • Payments may be subject to verification and fraud-prevention checks
  • You are responsible for ensuring that payment and billing information supplied by you is accurate
  • Where a payment is reversed, declined or subject to an unauthorised chargeback, we reserve the right to suspend processing while the matter is investigated

Order Confirmation Does Not Necessarily Mean Acceptance

When you place an order through our website, you may receive an automated acknowledgement confirming that we have received your order.

Receipt of an order confirmation or automated acknowledgement does not necessarily mean that ClearRay Solar has accepted your order or entered into a contract to supply the goods.

We reserve the right to verify the order and customer information before acceptance.

We may refuse or cancel an order before acceptance where reasonably necessary, including where:

  • Payment fails or cannot be verified
  • Products are unavailable or have become unavailable
  • A supplier has withdrawn or materially changed product availability
  • A genuine pricing or product description error has occurred
  • Information supplied by the customer is materially incomplete or inaccurate
  • Fraud or payment-security concerns arise
  • The requested delivery location is outside our service area
  • The order does not meet a product-specific eligibility requirement
  • The order raises sanctions, export-control or other legal compliance concerns
  • A Tesla order cannot satisfy the applicable installer or business verification requirements

Where an order is cancelled before acceptance and payment has already been taken, we will arrange an appropriate refund of the amount paid.

Contract Formation

A contract for the supply of goods is formed when ClearRay Solar accepts the customer's order.

Acceptance may be communicated by email, order confirmation, dispatch notification, fulfilment of the order or another clear indication that ClearRay Solar has accepted the order.

Nothing in this section affects any statutory rights that apply to consumers.

Business & Trade Customers

Business Purchases

Where a product is purchased wholly or mainly for purposes relating to a trade, business, craft or profession, the purchaser may be acting as a business customer rather than a consumer.

Business customers do not generally receive the statutory consumer cancellation rights that apply to eligible consumer distance contracts.

Where the purchaser is a business, the purchaser is responsible for ensuring that the person placing the order has authority to enter into the contract on behalf of that business.

Same Ordering Process

ClearRay Solar uses the same online ordering process for consumer and business customers. The fact that an order is placed through the website does not, by itself, determine whether the purchaser is acting as a consumer or business.

The nature and purpose of the purchase will be considered where relevant.

Business Customer Information

Business customers must provide accurate company, billing, delivery and contact information where requested.

Where we require additional information to verify a business customer or the eligibility to purchase a particular product, we may request that information before accepting or fulfilling the order.

Nothing in this section removes or restricts statutory consumer rights where those rights legally apply.

Shipping & Delivery

Delivery arrangements are governed by our Shipping Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

  • Service Area: We currently deliver to locations within the UK, subject to product-specific and courier restrictions
  • Delivery Estimates: Any delivery timeframe displayed or quoted is an estimate unless expressly stated to be a guaranteed delivery date
  • Signature: High-value or restricted products may require a signature
  • Access: The customer is responsible for ensuring suitable access for the agreed delivery vehicle and unloading requirements
  • Delivery Restrictions: Certain products may have specific delivery requirements due to their size, weight, hazardous classification or manufacturer restrictions

Delivery Delays

We will take reasonable steps to arrange delivery within the agreed or estimated timeframe.

However, delivery may be affected by courier delays, supplier shortages, adverse weather, transport disruption, industrial action, vehicle restrictions or other circumstances outside our reasonable control.

Where a delivery date is legally required to be met or where the customer has a statutory remedy for delay, nothing in these Terms limits those rights.

Undeliverable Orders

If an order cannot be delivered because of circumstances attributable to the customer, including incorrect delivery information, refusal of delivery or failure to provide reasonable access, we may seek to recover reasonable additional costs incurred.

Where permitted by law and the contract, we may:

  • Arrange a further delivery at additional cost
  • Return the goods to our warehouse
  • Charge reasonable storage costs where goods are held at the customer's request or due to customer-caused delay
  • Take other reasonable steps to recover the goods or resolve the delivery issue

Returns & Refunds

Returns, cancellations, refunds and exchanges are governed by our dedicated Refund Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

That policy distinguishes between statutory consumer cancellation rights and commercial B2B returns.

  • Eligible consumers generally have a statutory 14-day cancellation period for qualifying distance purchases
  • Consumers may have statutory rights where goods are faulty, damaged, not as described or otherwise do not conform to the contract
  • Business customers do not generally have statutory consumer change-of-mind cancellation rights
  • B2B returns are subject to the contractual terms applicable to the relevant order
  • Specific product categories may have additional return requirements

Nothing in these Terms or our Refund Policy limits statutory consumer rights.

Tesla Products – Installer Verification & B2B Terms

Tesla Products Are Restricted to Verified Businesses and Installers

Tesla products supplied by ClearRay Solar are restricted to registered businesses and authorised, certified or otherwise approved Tesla installers, where applicable to the product.

Customers use the same ClearRay Solar ordering process as other customers. However, where a Tesla product is ordered, ClearRay Solar carries out an additional verification before the order is fulfilled.

The purpose of this verification is to confirm that the purchaser is a legitimate business and satisfies the applicable Tesla installer or certification requirements.

Tesla products are not supplied as ordinary consumer purchases for personal or domestic use.

Verification and Cancellation

We may request reasonable information required to verify the purchaser's business and installer status.

If the required verification cannot be completed, or if the purchaser does not satisfy the applicable requirements, ClearRay Solar may cancel the Tesla order before dispatch.

Where payment has already been taken for an order cancelled for this reason, we will arrange an appropriate refund.

Business Status of Accepted Tesla Orders

Where a Tesla order is accepted following the required verification, the purchaser confirms that the product is being purchased in connection with their trade, business or profession and that they are acting as a business customer.

The commercial terms applicable to B2B Tesla purchases therefore apply to the accepted order.

Tesla Installation & Commissioning Requirements

Tesla products are subject to Tesla's own installation, commissioning, registration and warranty requirements.

It is the customer's responsibility to ensure, before placing an order, that the product can be installed and commissioned in accordance with Tesla's current requirements, including the use of an appropriately authorised or approved installer where required.

ClearRay Solar is not responsible for losses arising solely because a customer has ordered a Tesla product without satisfying the applicable manufacturer installation or commissioning requirements.

Warranty and Manufacturer Requirements

Where Tesla or another manufacturer requires specific installer registration, commissioning procedures, product registration, system configuration or other conditions for warranty eligibility, the customer is responsible for ensuring that those requirements are met.

Failure to satisfy a manufacturer's requirements may affect manufacturer warranty coverage or technical support. This does not remove any statutory rights that apply to the customer.

Tesla Change-of-Mind Returns

Where an accepted Tesla order is a B2B purchase, the business customer does not have an automatic statutory consumer right to cancel simply because they have changed their mind, made an ordering error, cancelled a project, over-ordered or no longer require the product.

Any B2B Tesla return must be agreed by ClearRay Solar in advance.

25% Tesla B2B Restocking & Handling Charge

Where ClearRay Solar agrees to accept a B2B return of a Tesla product due to change of mind, ordering error, project cancellation, over-ordering or another reason not attributable to ClearRay Solar, a 25% restocking and handling charge will apply.

The charge is separate from any applicable collection, transportation or return costs.

The 25% B2B restocking charge does not apply to a consumer exercising a statutory cancellation right and does not apply where the return is required because ClearRay Solar supplied the wrong product, the product was defective or damaged before delivery, or another legal or contractual remedy requires otherwise.

Tesla Returns Require Prior Authorisation

All Tesla B2B returns require prior written authorisation from ClearRay Solar.

Tesla products must not be returned without receiving return instructions from ClearRay Solar.

Additional requirements relating to the condition, packaging, collection and transportation of returned Tesla products are set out in our Refund Policy.

Manufacturer Warranties & Product Guarantees

Manufacturer Warranties

Where a manufacturer provides a warranty for a product, the warranty is provided subject to the manufacturer's own terms and conditions.

Manufacturer warranties may contain requirements relating to:

  • Installation by suitably qualified or authorised installers
  • Product registration
  • Commissioning
  • System configuration
  • Maintenance
  • Use in accordance with manufacturer instructions
  • Use of approved components or accessories

Warranty Claims

Warranty claims may require proof of purchase, product serial numbers, installation information, photographs, fault codes, commissioning information or other evidence reasonably required to investigate the issue.

We will assist with warranty claims where appropriate, but the final scope of a manufacturer's warranty is determined by the applicable manufacturer's warranty terms.

Statutory Rights

A manufacturer's warranty does not replace or remove any statutory rights that apply to consumers.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits statutory rights relating to goods being as described, of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose or otherwise conforming to the contract where those rights apply.

Limitation of Liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so.

In particular, nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for:

  • Death or personal injury caused by negligence
  • Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation
  • Fraudulent concealment
  • Any statutory consumer right that cannot legally be excluded or restricted
  • Any other liability which cannot legally be excluded or limited under applicable law

Consumer Customers

Where you are a consumer, nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude or restrict your statutory rights or any liability which cannot legally be excluded or restricted.

Business Customers

To the maximum extent permitted by law, and subject to any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted, ClearRay Solar will not be liable to a business customer for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, loss of revenue, loss of business opportunity or loss of anticipated savings.

Where permitted by law, ClearRay Solar's total liability to a business customer arising from a particular contract will not exceed the total amount paid or payable for the goods or services giving rise to the relevant claim.

The above limitations are subject to applicable law and do not apply where such limitation would be unlawful or unreasonable.

Important: Nothing in this section removes or restricts liability or rights that cannot legally be excluded or restricted under UK law.

Intellectual Property Rights

All content on our website, including text, graphics, logos, images, product information, databases, software, CAD drawings, configurators, BOM tools, page layouts and other materials, is owned by or licensed to ClearRay Solar and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

  • Republish substantial portions of our content on another website

User Accounts & Credentials

Account Responsibility

You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials
  • All activity carried out through your account
  • Providing accurate account information
  • Keeping your contact and billing information up to date
  • Notifying us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised

Account Suspension

We may suspend or terminate access to an account where reasonably necessary because of:

  • Material breach of these Terms
  • Fraudulent activity
  • Repeated payment failures or unauthorised chargebacks
  • Abusive or threatening behaviour
  • Unauthorised access attempts
  • Misuse of our website or services

Where required by law, we will not use account suspension to deprive a customer of statutory rights or remedies.

Limitation of Service & Website Availability

We may reasonably:

  • Limit quantities per customer to prevent fraud, stock hoarding or abuse
  • Restrict access to particular products where legal, manufacturer, safety or supply requirements apply
  • Withdraw or replace products that are discontinued or unavailable
  • Perform maintenance or security updates
  • Temporarily suspend website functionality where necessary for security or technical reasons

Website Availability

We do not guarantee that the website will always be available, uninterrupted or error-free.

We will take reasonable steps to restore important services following outages where practicable.

Force Majeure

We will not be responsible for delay or failure to perform an obligation where the delay or failure results from circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

Examples may include:

  • Severe weather
  • Fire, flood or other natural events
  • Industrial disputes
  • Transport or courier disruption
  • Supplier shortages
  • Manufacturer production delays
  • Government action or changes in law
  • War, terrorism or civil unrest
  • Telecommunications or internet failures
  • Cybersecurity incidents outside our reasonable control

Where such an event occurs, we will take reasonable steps to minimise the impact and resume performance as soon as reasonably practicable.

Export Controls & Legal Compliance

Customers are responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable laws relating to the use, installation, export, import, resale and onward supply of products purchased from ClearRay Solar.

We may refuse or cancel an order where reasonably necessary to comply with applicable sanctions, export controls or other legal requirements.

Privacy & Data Protection

Personal information is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

By using our website and placing an order, you acknowledge that information necessary to process your order may be collected, processed and shared with relevant payment providers, couriers, manufacturers and service providers where necessary to fulfil the contract or comply with legal obligations.

Complaints & Dispute Resolution

Contact Us First

If you have a complaint or dispute, please contact us first so that we have an opportunity to investigate and resolve the issue.

We aim to deal with complaints fairly and within a reasonable timeframe.

Consumer Customers

Nothing in these Terms prevents a consumer from exercising any statutory right to bring a claim, use an applicable dispute-resolution process or seek independent legal advice.

Business Customers

Business customers should initially raise disputes directly with ClearRay Solar and provide reasonable details of the issue, relevant order information and the remedy sought.

We will attempt to resolve genuine disputes in good faith before court proceedings are commenced.

Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms and any contract between ClearRay Solar and the customer are governed by the laws of England and Wales, subject to any mandatory legal rights that apply to the customer.

Consumer Customers

If you are a consumer, you will benefit from any mandatory protections provided by the law of the country in which you live where those protections cannot lawfully be excluded.

Nothing in these Terms prevents a consumer from bringing proceedings in a court that has jurisdiction under applicable law.

Business Customers

Business customers agree that the courts of England and Wales will have jurisdiction over disputes arising from these Terms or any contract with ClearRay Solar, subject to any applicable mandatory legal requirements.

Indemnification

To the extent permitted by law, a business customer agrees to indemnify ClearRay Solar against reasonable losses, liabilities and costs arising directly from:

  • The customer's material breach of these Terms
  • The customer's unlawful use of our website or services
  • The customer's infringement of third-party intellectual property rights
  • The customer's misuse of products supplied by ClearRay Solar
  • Unauthorised or unsafe installation carried out by or on behalf of the customer

This clause does not apply to the extent that the relevant loss was caused by ClearRay Solar's own breach, negligence or unlawful conduct.

Nothing in this section restricts any statutory consumer rights.

Cancellation Before Dispatch

Where an order has not yet been dispatched, you may contact us to request cancellation.

We will consider cancellation requests as quickly as reasonably practicable. However, once an order has entered processing, been allocated for dispatch or been collected by the carrier, cancellation may no longer be possible before delivery.

Where a consumer has a statutory cancellation right, that right is governed by the applicable consumer legislation and our Refund Policy.

For B2B orders, cancellation before dispatch is subject to the contractual terms applicable to the order.

Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, unlawful or unenforceable, that provision will be modified or removed to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will continue in effect.

No Waiver

If we do not immediately enforce a provision of these Terms, this does not mean that we have waived our right to enforce that provision later.

Any waiver must be expressly agreed in writing by ClearRay Solar.

Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with any applicable order-specific terms and the policies expressly incorporated into them, form the agreement between ClearRay Solar and the customer in relation to the relevant purchase and use of our services.

These documents may include, where applicable:

  • Refund Policy
  • Shipping Policy
  • Privacy Policy
  • Cookie Policy
  • Product-specific terms
  • Manufacturer warranty terms
  • Any separately agreed quotation or commercial terms

Where there is a conflict between these Terms and a separately agreed written quotation or contract, the specific written agreement will take precedence to the extent of the conflict.

Where different rules apply to consumer and business purchases, the applicable legal and contractual framework will be determined by the nature of the purchase and the customer's status.
