SunSynk Acure 5.0kW Single Phase Hybrid Inverter (White)

SunSynk Acure 5.0kW Single Phase Hybrid Inverter (White)

Sunsynk Acure single phase hybrid — The quiet, good-looking Sunsynk — arc-fault detection, theft detection and ten years with a Sunsynk battery.

A hybrid inverter does three jobs a string inverter cannot. It converts solar DC to AC; it charges and discharges a battery on the DC side, which avoids the double conversion an AC-coupled battery pays for; and when the grid fails it islands the house and keeps the essential-load output alive from the battery.

Overview

About the Sunsynk Acure single phase hybrid

The Acure is the domestic end of the Sunsynk range and it shows in the details: a white or black case designed to be seen, a multi-colour LED strip that tells you what the system is doing at a glance, arc-fault detection built in, and even panel-theft detection circuits.

Sunsynk build these around two output terminals rather than one: an essential-load output that stays live in a power cut, and a non-essential-load output that does not. That split is why the range is specified so often for houses that actually want to keep working through an outage rather than merely to store cheap electricity.

Battery compatibility

Which battery does this inverter take?

This inverter takes Low voltage, 40 – 60 V, lead-acid or lithium-ion.

This model has a battery voltage window of 40 – 60 V.

This rule applies to the Sunsynk ECCO, Classic, Acure and MAX single phase, and the SG04LP3 three phase.

Charging strategy self-adapts to the battery BMS. Maximum charge and discharge current is model-specific and runs from 70 A on the 3 kW ECCO to 290 A on the 16 kW MAX.

What we stock that fits this inverter:

Low voltage and high voltage batteries are not interchangeable. A 48 V battery cannot be used on a high-voltage hybrid and a high-voltage stack cannot be used on a low-voltage one, whatever a general compatibility list says, and no adapter changes that. Solis put it plainly on their own list: installing a non-compatible battery will void the inverter warranty. If you are not certain, ask us and we will check it against your part number before you order.

String design, battery limits and what is in the box

The details that decide whether this unit suits the job:

  • Battery is 48 V nominal, 40 – 60 V, one battery input, BMS self-adapting. Maximum charge and discharge is 90 A on the 3.6 kW and 120 A on the 5.0 kW.
  • Two MPP trackers, one string each, 18 A per tracker and 27 A Isc. 500 V maximum, 125 V start-up, 150 – 425 V MPPT window, 370 V rated.
  • Note the two PV figures: maximum PV access power is 7,200 W on the 3.6 kW and 10,000 W on the 5.0 kW, while maximum PV input power is 5,760 W and 8,000 W. The larger figure is what may be connected, the smaller is what the inverter will process.
  • Off-grid peak is twice rated power for 10 seconds. Maximum continuous AC passthrough is 35 A on the 3.6 kW and 40 A on the 5.0 kW.
  • Arc fault interruption is optional; DC input switch, RCD detection and Type II surge protection on both sides are fitted.
  • 376 × 530 × 276 mm, 19.35 kg, IP65, convection cooled under 30 dB, to 2,000 m.
  • Warranty is 5 years, or 10 when the inverter is installed with a Sunsynk battery.

Things worth knowing about this listing

These notes come from us and from the manufacturer, and they are the ones that most often cause a problem after delivery:
  • Register the installation with Sunsynk within seven days of commissioning. Warranty registration after that window can be refused, and the cover made void.

Frequently asked questions

Questions we get asked about this inverter

How do I get the ten-year warranty?

Install it with a Sunsynk battery, and register the installation within seven days of commissioning. Miss the registration window and the cover can be void.

What is the difference between PV access power and PV input power?

Access power is the array you are allowed to connect — 7,200 W on the 3.6 kW. Input power is what the inverter will actually process — 5,760 W. The gap is deliberate and is what lets a large array hold full output for more of the day.

Which battery?

Any 48 V nominal battery inside 40 – 60 V, with the charge strategy self-adapting to the BMS. A Sunsynk battery also doubles the warranty.

Is it quiet?

Convection cooled and quoted under 30 dB, so yes — it is meant to live somewhere you will notice it.
