Sunsynk ECCO SG04LP1 — Charges and exports at the same time — the reason the 3.6 kW ECCO takes a 7 kWp array.
A hybrid inverter does three jobs a string inverter cannot. It converts solar DC to AC; it charges and discharges a battery on the DC side, which avoids the double conversion an AC-coupled battery pays for; and when the grid fails it islands the house and keeps the essential-load output alive from the battery.
About the Sunsynk ECCO SG04LP1
The ECCO's trick is that it can generate and charge at once. On the 3.6 kW the datasheet allows 7,000 W of PV against a 3,680 W export limit, so on a bright day the unit exports its full allowance while the surplus goes into the battery instead of being clipped. That is what makes it the answer for a large roof on a constrained grid connection.
Sunsynk build these around two output terminals rather than one: an essential-load output that stays live in a power cut, and a non-essential-load output that does not. That split is why the range is specified so often for houses that actually want to keep working through an outage rather than merely to store cheap electricity.

This inverter takes Low voltage, 40 – 60 V, lead-acid or lithium-ion.
This model has a battery voltage window of 40 – 60 V, BMS communication over RS485; CAN.
This rule applies to the Sunsynk ECCO, Classic, Acure and MAX single phase, and the SG04LP3 three phase.
Charging strategy self-adapts to the battery BMS. Maximum charge and discharge current is model-specific and runs from 70 A on the 3 kW ECCO to 290 A on the 16 kW MAX.

- The datasheet gives the 3.6 kW a 7,000 W maximum DC input and the 5 kW 6,500 W — the smaller unit taking the larger array. That is what the document says; ask us to confirm it with Sunsynk before you design an array to that figure.
- Off-grid peak is twice rated power for 10 seconds.
- Maximum continuous AC passthrough is 35 A on the 3.6 kW and 40 A on the 5 kW.
- Up to 16 units with the same firmware can be paralleled.
- 330 × 433 × 238 mm, 11.4 kg on the 3.6 kW and 14 kg on the 5 kW, IP65, convection cooled at under 30 dB.
- The datasheet prints a 99.90 % European efficiency, which is higher than its own 97.60 % maximum and cannot be right, so it is left off this page.

Can it really charge and export at once?
Yes, and that is the point of it. The 3.6 kW exports up to 3,680 W to the grid while the rest of the array charges the battery, so a roof much larger than the export limit still earns its keep.
Which battery does it take?
Any 48 V nominal battery inside 40 – 60 V, lead-acid or lithium-ion, with the charging strategy self-adapting to the BMS. Check the current Sunsynk battery compatibility document for your exact model before ordering.
What will the backup output run?
Whatever is wired to the essential-load terminal, up to rated power, with twice that for ten seconds while a motor starts. The non-essential terminal goes dead in an outage, which is how the battery is made to last.
Is there a hardware difference between SG01LP1 and SG04LP1 stock?
No. Sunsynk update the firmware remotely after installation. The notes on this listing say which stock we are shipping.
How many can I parallel?
Up to 16, provided every unit is on the same firmware.
