Solis FlexCore ID Accessory Kit for 5-9 Batteries

Once a Solis FlexCore-ID cluster grows past four packs it is split across two stacks, and this kit, the Column 2 accessory bag in Solis's manual, supplies what joins them: two bases, a top cover, the lower jumper cables that bridge one column to the next and the main leads back to the control box.

It is sized for five to nine 20 kWh packs, roughly 100 to 181 kWh of nominal energy. Battery packs and the high-voltage control box are separate purchases.

How the two columns are arranged

Solis's grouping drawing sets five packs out as three beside two, six as three and three, seven as four and three, eight as four and four, and nine as five beside four. In every case the control box rides on one column, and the column without it is finished with the top cover from this kit.

The datasheet lists stands of three, four or five packs. Within this kit's range, a five-pack stand appears only in the nine-pack layout, and the column carrying the control box never holds more than four.

Joining the two bases

Place the bases with a 100 mm gap between them; the manual warns that the metal fixing plates cannot be connected at any other spacing. Two base limit plates then lock the neighbouring bases together, held by the four M6 × 12 screws packed for that job, and each base sits on four of the eight levelling feet. Both bases need earthing before the packs go on.

Cables across and around the columns

The 760 mm lower communication jumper runs from COM2 on a pack in one column to COM2 on a pack in the other, and the 950 mm lower power jumper bridges the same gap from a B+ port to a B- port. Back at the control box, the 190 mm cable feeds communication from JP1 to COM1 on PACK1, the 240 mm negative lead pairs the B- terminals, and the 1000 mm positive lead returns from the B+ of the final pack in the chain. That final pack also receives the 120 Ω resistor in COM2.

Within a single column, the short pack-to-pack communication and power cables are supplied with each battery pack, not with this kit.

Nine packs: check the upper jumpers

The manual's wiring steps describe an 1100 mm upper communication cable and an 830 mm upper power cable as being for clusters of 9 to 13 packs, yet the Column 2 parts list for 5-9 packs contains only the lower pair. Anyone planning a nine-pack cluster should ask Solis whether the upper cables are needed before installation day.

In the box

  • 2 × bases
  • 1 × top cover
  • 8 × levelling feet
  • 1 × communication cable, control box to top pack, 190 mm
  • 1 × lower communication jumper between columns, 760 mm
  • 1 × battery main positive cable, 1000 mm
  • 1 × battery main negative cable, 240 mm
  • 1 × lower battery power jumper between columns, 950 mm
  • 2 × 8.0 right-angle connector plugs, orange
  • 2 × 8.0 right-angle connector plugs, black
  • 2 × base limit plates
  • 66 × M6 × 12 frame fixing screws
  • 4 × M6 × 12 screws for fitting the limit plates
  • 1 × 120 Ω resistor plug
  • 20 × cable ties
  • 1 × RJ45 adapter, CAN between battery BMS and inverter
  • Five to nine battery packs, which bring their own in-column cables and earth wires
  • The high-voltage control box
  • Upper column jumpers, listed by Solis only in the 10-13 pack kit
  • Pack lifting hooks or tools

Choose the right kit

Three or four packs fit in one column and take the 3-4 pack accessory kit, which has a single base and no column jumpers. From ten packs the cluster needs a third column, and the 10-13 pack accessory kit adds the extra base, a second top cover and the upper jumper pair.

Questions on the 5-9 pack kit

Is one top cover enough for two columns?

Yes. The control box occupies the top of one column, so only the other needs a cover.

How far apart should the two bases stand?

100 mm. Solis notes that the fixing plates will not connect if the spacing is different.

What voltage does a two-column cluster run at?

Five packs span 280 to 360 V, nine span 504 to 648 V. At five packs the lower figure is under the 300 V floor that the datasheet gives the S6-EH3P models with a 300–950 V battery window, so confirm the inverter choice with Solis.

Does a nine-pack cluster need extra cables?

Possibly. The wiring steps link the upper jumper pair to 9-13 pack clusters, but this kit's list leaves them out; check with Solis for nine packs.

Where do the pack-to-pack cables come from?

From the packs themselves. Each battery pack ships with a 145 mm communication cable, a 330 mm power cable and a 250 mm earth wire.
