Solis FlexCore ID Accessory Kit for 10-13 Batteries

The largest of the three Solis FlexCore-ID accessory kits, listed in the manual as the Column 3 accessory bag, equips a cluster of ten to thirteen 20 kWh packs laid out in three columns. That layout takes a single cluster to the system's 261 kWh nominal ceiling.

Inside are three bases on twelve levelling feet, two top covers, four base limit plates, an upper and a lower pair of column jumpers, and the main leads to the high-voltage control box. Packs and control box are bought separately.

Three columns, one control box

Solis draws ten packs as three, four and three; eleven as four, four and three; twelve as three stacks of four; and thirteen as four, five and four. The control box tops one column in each arrangement, and the two remaining columns take the kit's pair of top covers.

Thirteen packs at 154 kg apiece put a little over two tonnes of battery on the three bases, before the 50 kg control box is added. The system is designed for indoor installation, with an IP20 enclosure.

Upper and lower jumper sets

Two side-by-side columns are linked by a lower jumper pair alone; a third column brings in an upper pair as well. According to the wiring steps, the lower communication jumper is 760 mm and runs COM2 to COM2, the upper one is 1100 mm and runs COM1 to COM1, while the power jumpers measure 950 mm (lower) and 830 mm (upper) and each run from a B+ port to the B- port of a pack in the neighbouring column.

At the control box end, a communication cable goes from JP1 to COM1 on PACK1, given as 190 mm in the wiring steps, and a 240 mm negative lead joins the two B- terminals. The positive lead returns from the B+ of the last pack, which also takes the 120 Ω resistor in COM2. The Column 3 parts table prints no cable lengths, and Solis says only that the main positive cable's length varies with the cluster size, so its length here is not published.

Bases and fixings

Each of the three bases stands on four levelling feet, with 100 mm left between neighbouring bases so the metal fixing plates can join them. Four base limit plates, fastened with eight M6 × 12 screws, hold the row together, and a further 74 M6 × 12 screws fix the frames. All three bases are earthed.

Matching cluster voltage to the inverter

Ten packs run between 560 and 720 V; thirteen run from 728 to 936 V. The FlexCore datasheet gives some S6-EH3P hybrid models a 150–800 V battery window and others 300–950 V, and from twelve packs (672–864 V) the top of the cluster range passes 800 V. Confirm the inverter model with Solis for the pack count planned.

Choose the right kit

Fewer than ten packs means fewer columns. A cluster of three or four stands as one column on the 3-4 pack accessory kit; five to nine stand as two on the 5-9 pack accessory kit, which has one top cover and lower jumpers only. Thirteen is the most packs one cluster holds, and the datasheet allows up to six clusters in parallel beyond that.

Questions on the 10-13 pack kit

Why does the kit include two top covers?

Three columns, one control box: the box caps one stack, and the covers close off the other two.

Are the upper jumpers used on every layout this kit covers?

Yes. The wiring steps assign the upper communication and power jumpers to clusters of 9 to 13 packs, which takes in every count from ten to thirteen.

What is the largest system these clusters can form?

One cluster stops at 13 packs. The datasheet scales the system to six clusters in parallel, up to 1566 kWh.

Does the kit carry power cables to the inverter?

No. Its only inverter-facing part is the RJ45 adapter for CAN communication with the battery management system.

What lifting gear is needed?

Hooks at the four corners of each pack. Solis publishes the hook and pack dimensions but names no specific tool, and its tool list includes a hydraulic lifting cart.
