About the Sunsynk SG01HP3 three phase with HV storage

The SG01HP3 is Sunsynk's 50 kW three-phase high-voltage hybrid: four MPP trackers, 65 kW of array against a 50 kW rating, 50 kW of EPS peaking at 75 kW for ten seconds, and two independent battery inputs.

The battery is what decides what the system actually delivers. Each string runs through one 50 A input, so it discharges at half a C whatever the inverter is rated at, and Sunsynk ask that the battery stay above 500 V or the inverter derates. The continuous power figure on this page is the one the battery in this package can hold.

IP20 rack-mounted battery and an IP65 inverter, with intelligent air cooling at up to 65 dB. A plant room rather than an office wall.

Which inverter will run this battery?

This is a complete three-phase commercial system: the SG01HP3 hybrid inverter, the high-voltage battery modules, the BMS units and the racks.

There is no separate inverter to choose — the SG01HP3 in this package is the hybrid, and the modules, BMS units and racks under it are matched to it. The inverter has two battery inputs at 50 A each and accepts 160 to 800 V. The Package Contents block on this page is the definitive list of what ships.

Stack rules, cabling and what else the job needs

The details that decide whether this battery suits the system:

  • The inverter has two battery inputs, 50 A charge and 50 A discharge each, accepting 160 to 800 V.
  • Sunsynk's three-phase HV datasheet says to keep the battery above 500 V: below that the inverter limits its output, and at 430 V and 100 A a 50 kW machine gives 43 kW and raises overload errors above it. Twelve modules make 614.4 V and clear the line; four make 204.8 V and do not.
  • Each battery string runs through one 50 A input on the inverter, so a string discharges at half a C whatever the inverter is rated at — 10.24 kW on a 20.48 kWh string, 30.72 kW on a 61.44 kWh one. The SG01HP3 has two inputs, so two strings double it.
  • Four MPP trackers with two strings each, 36 A a tracker and 55 A Isc, 1,000 V maximum, a 150 – 850 V MPPT window and a 450 – 850 V full-load window. Maximum DC input 65,000 W against the 50,000 W rating.
  • Off-grid peak is 1.5 times rated power for 10 seconds. Maximum three-phase unbalanced output current is 83.3 A.
  • Maximum continuous AC passthrough is 200 A — size the distribution for it.
  • Inverter: 88 kg, 527 × 894 × 294 mm, IP65, air cooled to 65 dB. Battery: IP20, rack mounted, 44 kg a module plus 85 kg of rack.
  • Battery over-current protection is by fuses.

Why are there two BMS units on some packages?

Because there are two battery strings, one on each of the inverter's two battery inputs, and each string needs its own management.

How much of the battery can I use?

90 % of the nominal figure, at the recommended depth of discharge.
