Sunsynk 5.12kWh Single Battery Unit for HV Series
Sunsynk 5.12kWh Single Battery Unit for HV Series
Sunsynk HV series battery module — 5.12 kWh and 51.2 V — one module of a Sunsynk high-voltage rack.
High-voltage storage exists because current is what costs money. Putting modules in series raises the voltage and drops the current for the same power, which means thinner cable, smaller losses and less heat in a commercial installation.
About the Sunsynk HV series battery module
This is one module of that stack: 5.12 kWh at 51.2 V, 100 Ah, with a 90 % depth of discharge and at least 6,000 cycles. Three to twelve go in a rack, making 15.36 to 61.44 kWh at 153.6 to 614.4 V.
It is a part, not a product. On its own it does nothing: the rack needs a BMS to talk to the inverter and a cabinet to sit in, and both are separate parts.
IP20 and rack mounted, charging from 0 °C and discharging from −20 °C.
What each stack size gives you
Three modules is the smallest rack and twelve the largest:
Which inverter will run this battery?
This is one module of a Sunsynk high-voltage rack, wired in series with others to 160 – 800 V.
This is a single module and not a system. A working Sunsynk HV battery is three to twelve of these modules plus a BMS and the rack or cabinet with its door, on a Sunsynk SG01HP3 three-phase hybrid. If you want the whole thing as one line, order the 20.48 kWh or 61.44 kWh system instead.

Stack rules, cabling and what else the job needs
The details that decide whether this battery suits the system:
- 5.12 kWh and 51.2 V a module, 100 Ah. Three to twelve modules in a rack: 15.36 kWh at three, 61.44 kWh at twelve.
- Sunsynk's three-phase HV datasheet says to keep the battery above 500 V: below that the inverter limits its output, and at 430 V and 100 A a 50 kW machine gives 43 kW and raises overload errors above it. Twelve modules make 614.4 V and clear the line; four make 204.8 V and do not.
- Each battery string runs through one 50 A input on the inverter, so a string discharges at half a C whatever the inverter is rated at — 10.24 kW on a 20.48 kWh string, 30.72 kW on a 61.44 kWh one. The SG01HP3 has two inputs, so two strings double it.
- 50 A recommended and 100 A nominal charge and discharge, 125 A peak for two minutes.
- A system is modules plus a BMS plus the rack or cabinet with its door. The BMS and the rack are separate parts.
- 589 × 590 × 1,640 mm for a part-filled rack and 589 × 590 × 2,240 mm at twelve modules. 44 kg a module plus 85 kg of rack; a full 61.44 kWh rack is about 628 kg.
- IP20 and rack mounted — a plant room, not an outside wall. Charge 0 to 55 °C, discharge −20 to 55 °C, storage 0 to 35 °C.
- A second Sunsynk document quotes a 538 – 691 V window for the 61.44 kWh rack against the 499.2 – 700 V in the GX table used here. Design to the narrower one if you are close to the edge.

Questions we get asked about this inverter
Can I use one of these on its own?
No. A Sunsynk HV battery is three to twelve modules plus a BMS and a rack. This listing is one module, for building or extending a rack.
What should I order instead?
The 20.48 kWh or 61.44 kWh system, which is the modules, the BMS and the rack with its door as one line.
How many modules do I need?
Twelve if you want the inverter at full output — Sunsynk say to keep the battery above 500 V, and twelve modules make 614.4 V.
How much of it can I use?
4.61 kWh a module, at the recommended 90 % depth of discharge.
Can it go outside?
No. IP20, rack mounted, indoor.
