Enphase IQ Battery and 10 x IQ7PLUS Microinverter package
Enphase IQ Battery and 10 x IQ7PLUS Microinverter package
Enphase IQ Battery 5P package — 5 kWh usable and 3.2 kVA, with the gateway and cabling that make it commission.
A storage package is the parts of a system bought as one line rather than six: the inverter or controller, the battery, and the pieces that join them. The Package Contents block on this page is the definitive list of what ships.

About the Enphase IQ Battery 5P package
The IQ Battery 5P is AC coupled: six IQ8D-BAT microinverters inside the enclosure do the conversion, so it bolts on to a house that already has solar of any brand rather than replacing the inverter.
What makes it commission, rather than merely sit on the wall, is the Enphase gateway and the wired control link. That is what these packages exist to get right, and it is why the retrofit and new-install versions are different products.
Which inverter will run this battery?
This is an AC-coupled Enphase system: the battery, the gateway that meters and controls it, and the wiring between them.
AC coupled, so it does not need a hybrid inverter and does not care which inverter the solar runs through. What it does need is an Enphase gateway: whether that is in this package or already on the wall is the difference between the new-install and the retrofit version, and they are not interchangeable.
Stack rules, cabling and what else the job needs
The details that decide whether this battery suits the system:
- The Package Contents block is the definitive list of what ships.
- The retrofit package assumes an Envoy-S Metered is already installed. If there is not one on the property, order the new-install package instead.
- You must be Enphase certified to commission this. An uncertified installer cannot complete the commissioning process.
- Up to four battery units can be connected for more capacity.
- The battery is 5.0 kWh usable and 3.2 kVA continuous at 230 V, single phase.
- 66.3 kg to lift and 78.9 kg installed. The lifting handles are a separate part on some of these packages — check the contents block.
- Enclosure IP55 with the microinverters at IP67, natural convection, wall mount included and a pedestal available separately.
Where this battery earns its place
The IQ Battery 5P package is specified most often for these jobs.
Things worth knowing about this listing
- This package contains the Enphase parts needed to connect ten panels in portrait layout, with some minor deviation.
- Lifting handles are not included in this package. They are part EN-IQ-BATTERY-HANDLES if you want them, and the battery is 66.3 kg to lift.
- You must be Enphase certified to install this product. An uncertified installer cannot complete the commissioning process — contact our sales team about certification.

Questions we get asked about this inverter
Which package do I need?
If there is already an Envoy-S Metered on the property, the retrofit package. If there is not, the new-install package, which includes the gateway. They are not interchangeable.
Do I need to be certified?
Yes. Enphase require certification to commission this product; an uncertified installer cannot complete the process. Ask our sales team about certification.
Does it work with my existing inverter?
Yes — it is AC coupled, so the make of your solar inverter does not matter.
How many batteries can I have?
Up to four units.
Are the lifting handles included?
On some of these packages, yes; on the microinverter packages they are not. The Package Contents block above says which, and the handles are part EN-IQ-BATTERY-HANDLES if you need to add them.
Documents, advice and trade pricing
Every datasheet, certificate, installation manual and warranty document we hold for this product is in the Documents tab below. See the rest of our battery range, our hybrid inverters and our solar panels, or email sales@clearraysolar.com if you would like us to check a battery and inverter pairing before you order.
Three figures govern it, all in the Technical Specifications: the MPPT voltage range, the maximum input voltage and the maximum DC power. Tell us which panel you're pairing it with and we'll confirm the string layout.
G98 covers installations up to 3.68kW per phase and is notified to your DNO after commissioning. Anything larger needs G99 approval agreed beforehand. We can flag which one your design falls under.
A hybrid inverter takes a DC-coupled battery directly. A standard string inverter needs an AC-coupled battery alongside it. The Technical Specifications show which type this unit is.
Yes, up to the maximum DC power figure in the specifications. Modest oversizing is normal practice - it lifts output in winter and at either end of the day, at the cost of brief clipping at midday peak.
An MPPT tracks the optimum operating point for a string of panels. You want one per roof orientation or pitch, because panels facing different directions on a single tracker drag each other down.
The standard manufacturer warranty is listed under the Warranty tab. Extended cover is available on most brands - see Warranty Extensions.
