SolaX X3-Ultra — 36 A per tracker and 200 % PV input — the commercial end of the SolaX range.

A hybrid inverter does three jobs a string inverter cannot. It converts solar DC to AC; it charges and discharges a battery on the DC side, which avoids the double conversion an AC-coupled battery pays for; and when the grid fails it islands the house and keeps the EPS output alive from the battery.

About the SolaX X3-Ultra

The X3-Ultra is built for commercial and industrial work: 36 A per MPP tracker, up to 200 % PV oversizing, and 60 A of battery current across two ports. On the 25 kW that is 50 kWp of array on one inverter.

It is microgrid ready and balances power between a PCS and the hybrid in real time, supports 7×24 scheduling and is VPP ready through SolaX Cloud, with AI forecasting of generation and consumption.

IP66, smart cooled, 696 × 526 × 240 mm and 47 kg.

Which battery does this inverter take?

This inverter takes SolaX Triple Power HV, high voltage lithium.

This model has a battery voltage window of 120 – 800 V, a maximum charge or discharge current of 60 A (30 A × 2).

This rule applies to the SolaX X3-Hybrid G4 (180 – 650 V), X3-Hybrid Pro G4 and X3-Ultra (120 – 800 V).

Heated LFP modules, one master plus slaves. The window and the maximum current differ between the three X3 platforms, so read the figure in this model's own specification above.

What we stock that fits this inverter:

The three X3 platforms do not share one battery window: the X3-Hybrid G4 is 180 – 650 V, the X3-Hybrid Pro and X3-Ultra are 120 – 800 V, and the single-phase X1-Hybrid G4 is 80 – 480 V. Size the stack against the inverter in front of you, not against the brand name.

String design, battery limits and what is in the box

The details that decide whether this unit suits the job:

  • Battery is lithium-ion, 120 – 800 V, 60 A total across two ports (30 A × 2).
  • The 25 kW has three MPP trackers with two strings each, 36 A per tracker and 45 A Isc, on a 160 – 950 V MPPT window with a 200 V start-up and 1,000 V maximum.
  • Where both strings share one MPPT the maximum per string is 18 A; a single string on its own MPPT may take 20 A.
  • Maximum recommended PV array and maximum input DC power are both 50,000 W on the 25 kW — 200 % of rated.
  • Nominal AC output is 25,000 VA (24,900 under VDE 4105) with a maximum apparent power of 27,500 VA, and a rated current of 36.3 A.
  • EPS is twice rated power for 10 seconds, 25,000 VA rated, 36.3 A, switching in under 10 ms.
  • Efficiency: 98.0 % maximum, 97.7 % European, 99.9 % MPPT, with rated battery charge and discharge efficiencies of 98.5 % and 97.0 %.
