SolaX Triple Power HV 5.8kWh Heated LFP Main Battery MASTER V3

SolaX Triple Power HV T-BAT H 5.8 V3 — 5.8 kWh a module at 95 % usable, heated to −30 °C, IP66, one to six modules a stack.

A battery pays for itself by moving energy in time: solar generated at midday and electricity bought on an overnight rate, both spent in the evening. What decides whether it pays is the usable capacity, the charge rate and the cycle life.

Overview

About the SolaX Triple Power HV T-BAT H 5.8 V3

The T-BAT H 5.8 V3 is 5.8 kWh a module with 5.5 kWh usable at a 95 % depth of discharge and over 6,000 cycles. One master plus up to five slaves makes 34.6 kWh at 691.2 V.

The heating function is what distinguishes it. With it on, the battery charges from −30 °C rather than stopping at zero — the difference between taking an overnight charge on a frosty morning and not.

IP66 for wall or floor mounting, indoors or out, cooled naturally, and rated for 4 to 100 % condensing humidity.

Which inverter will run this battery?

This is a SolaX Triple Power HV stack: heated LFP modules in series, one master plus slaves.

Heated LFP modules, one master plus slaves. The window and the maximum current differ between the three X3 platforms, so read the figure in this model's own specification above.

Hybrid inverter platforms in our range that take this architecture:

Inverter platforms
SolaX X3-Hybrid G4Three phase, X3-HYBRID-15.0-M
SolaX X3-Hybrid Pro G4Three phase, X3-HYB-10.0-P, X3-HYB-15.0-P, X3-HYB-8.0-P
SolaX X3-UltraThree phase, X3-ULT-25K

Inverters we stock that will run it:

The three X3 platforms do not share one battery window: the X3-Hybrid G4 is 180 – 650 V, the X3-Hybrid Pro and X3-Ultra are 120 – 800 V, and the single-phase X1-Hybrid G4 is 80 – 480 V. Size the stack against the inverter in front of you, not against the brand name.
For the installer

Stack rules, cabling and what else the job needs

The details that decide whether this battery suits the system:

  • One master (the BMS and pack) plus up to five slave modules. Nominal voltage runs 115.2 V at one module to 691.2 V at six, with operating windows of 100 – 130 V and 600 – 750 V.
  • 2.9 kW rated and 4 kW maximum charge or discharge a module. 25 A recommended and 35 A maximum current; the current also depends on how many batteries are in parallel, and on temperature and state of charge.
  • Size the stack against the inverter, not the brand. The X1-Hybrid G4 wants 80 – 480 V, the X3-Hybrid G4 180 – 650 V, and the X3-Hybrid Pro and X3-Ultra 120 – 800 V.
  • 474 × 715 × 150 mm a module. The master is 61.5 kg and a slave 59.5 kg, both ±1 kg.
  • Below 0 °C with the heater off the battery can discharge but not charge. Discharge current is reduced between −20 and +10 °C and between 45 and 55 °C; charge current is reduced between 0 and 25 °C and between 45 and 55 °C.
  • Cables are ordered separately: battery-to-inverter positive and negative, battery-to-battery positive and negative, and the communication cable.
  • CAN 2.0 and RS485. IP66, wall or floor mounting, outdoor or indoor.

Things worth knowing about this listing

These notes come from us and from the manufacturer, and they are the ones that most often cause a problem after delivery:
  • Size the stack against the inverter, not the brand. The X1-Hybrid G4 takes 80 – 480 V, the X3-Hybrid G4 180 – 650 V, and the X3-Hybrid Pro and X3-Ultra 120 – 800 V. A stack built for one will not commission on another.
  • Battery cables are separate parts: battery-to-inverter positive and negative, battery-to-battery positive and negative, and the communication cable.

Frequently asked questions

Questions we get asked about this inverter

Do I need the master as well as slaves?

Yes. The master carries the BMS; slaves are extension modules and will not work without one.

How big can the stack get?

One master plus five slaves — 34.6 kWh at 691.2 V. Whether your inverter will take all six depends on its battery window.

Will it work with my SolaX inverter?

It depends which one. The X3-Hybrid G4 wants 180 – 650 V, the X3-Hybrid Pro and X3-Ultra 120 – 800 V, and the single-phase X1-Hybrid G4 is a different battery altogether at 80 – 480 V. Send us the part number.

What does the heating function actually do?

It lets the battery charge down to −30 °C. Without it, charging stops at 0 °C, which is exactly when an overnight tariff is cheapest.

How much of the 5.8 kWh can I use?

5.5 kWh, at the 95 % depth of discharge SolaX rate it to.
