SolaX X3 G4 Hybrid Pro 3 Phase Inverter HV 15.0kW
SolaX X3-Hybrid Pro G4 — Three trackers, two battery ports and 200 % EPS for ten seconds, in an IP66 case.
A hybrid inverter does three jobs a string inverter cannot. It converts solar DC to AC; it charges and discharges a battery on the DC side, which avoids the double conversion an AC-coupled battery pays for; and when the grid fails it islands the house and keeps the EPS output alive from the battery.
About the SolaX X3-Hybrid Pro G4
The Pro is the X3 built for bigger and more awkward jobs. Three MPP trackers at 20 A each cover a 110 – 950 V window, two independent battery ports let a system grow without replacing the first stack, and the EPS output delivers twice rated power for ten seconds at UPS-level switching speed.
It is microgrid and generator ready, V2X ready and VPP compatible, with rapid shutdown compatibility and SPD-II protection on both sides. IP66 rather than IP65, which matters on an exposed wall.
560 × 503 × 210 mm and 38 kg, natural cooling on the 8 to 12 kW and smart air cooling on the 15 kW.
Which battery does this inverter take?
This inverter takes SolaX Triple Power HV, high voltage lithium.
This model has a battery voltage window of 120 – 800 V, a maximum charge or discharge current of 50 A (25 A × 2).
This rule applies to the SolaX X3-Hybrid G4 (180 – 650 V), X3-Hybrid Pro G4 and X3-Ultra (120 – 800 V).
Heated LFP modules, one master plus slaves. The window and the maximum current differ between the three X3 platforms, so read the figure in this model's own specification above.

String design, battery limits and what is in the box
The details that decide whether this unit suits the job:
- Battery is high-voltage lithium, 120 – 800 V, 50 A total across two ports (25 A × 2). One port on a single battery is 30 A; both ports on one battery through a 2-in-1 splitter cable, sold separately, is 50 A.
- SolaX note a minimum of three HS25 or HS36 battery units, and that if the total voltage of the three is below 127 V with no PV input, the system will not start.
- Three MPP trackers, one string each, 20 A per tracker and 25 A Isc. 1,000 V maximum, 120 V start-up, 110 – 950 V MPPT window, 650 V rated.
- Maximum recommended PV array is twice rated power: 16 kWp on the 8 kW, 30 kWp on the 15 kW.
- EPS is twice rated power for 10 seconds with a switchover under 10 ms.
- Overvoltage category is III on the mains and II on battery and PV. Surge protection is Type II on both DC and AC; AFCI is optional.
- An energy meter is required on every installation — the SolaX M3-40 three-phase CT meter.
- 560 × 503 × 210 mm, 38 kg, IP66, −35 °C to +60 °C with derating above +45 °C.
Where this hybrid earns its place
The X3-Hybrid Pro G4 is specified most often for these jobs.
Things worth knowing about this listing
- Wi-Fi is included with the G4 V2, so no separate Pocket Wi-Fi is needed.
- An energy meter is required for every installation. Please see SOLAX-M3-40.
- When installing in parallel, all inverters must have the same kilowatt rating.
- When paralleling, every inverter in the system must have the same kW rating.

Ordered with this inverter more often than anything else
A hybrid is the middle of a system, not the whole of it. These are the parts our customers add most often:
Questions we get asked about this inverter
How much battery current can it take?
50 A in total: 25 A per port, or 30 A if only one port is connected to a single battery. To get the full 50 A into one battery you need the 2-in-1 splitter cable, which is sold separately.
Is there a minimum battery?
Yes. SolaX specify a minimum of three HS25 or HS36 units, and warn that if the three together sit below 127 V with no PV input, the system will not start up.
Which battery window?
120 – 800 V. That is different again from the X1-Hybrid G4 and the X3-Hybrid G4, so check the inverter before ordering a stack.
What is the EPS peak?
Twice rated power for ten seconds, switching in under 10 ms.
