Viridian Clearline 5.0kW 1PH Inverter 2MPPT with integrated DC isolator switch
Viridian Clearline Inverter 3.6 – 6.0 kW — Dual tracker, factory-fitted isolator, IP66, 10-year warranty — and UK support.
The larger Clearline inverters carry the same argument as the small ones — a British company, a factory-fitted DC isolator, a 10-year standard warranty and technical support you can telephone — and add the second MPP tracker that most UK roofs need.
About the Viridian Clearline Inverter 3.6 – 6.0 kW
Two trackers with a 40 – 560 V window and a 50 V start-up handle split pitches and shaded groups independently. 16 A per tracker gives headroom for current large-format modules, and the range covers installations from 3.6 kWp up to 9.0 kWp DC.
This range is IP66 rather than IP65 and runs at under 25 dB, in a 350 × 410 × 143 mm case at 12.8 kg (13.4 kg for the CSI6000). Peak efficiency is 97.9 % across all three models.
String design, certification and what is in the box
The details that decide whether this unit suits the job:
- Two MPPT trackers, one string each, 16 A per tracker, 23 A Isc.
- DC isolator factory fitted.
- IP66 and under 25 dB — quieter and better sealed than the smaller range.
- DC and AC surge protection both Type III as standard with Type II optional.
- AFCI, emergency power off and remote shutdown available as options.
- MC4 (4 – 6 mm²) on the DC side, plug-and-play AC connector to 6 mm².
- Suitable for installations from 3.6 kWp to 9.0 kWp DC.
Where this inverter earns its place
The Clearline Inverter 3.6 – 6.0 kW is specified most often for these jobs.
Can I add a battery to this?
This is a grid-tied PV inverter. It converts solar DC into AC for the property and the grid, and it has no battery port. That is not a shortcoming — it is the right architecture for a system without storage, and it is why it costs what it does.
If storage is on the roadmap, you have two routes. Add an AC-coupled battery system alongside this inverter later, which works with any PV inverter and needs no change to what is already installed. Or choose a hybrid inverter now and pay for a battery port you will use in a year or two. We are happy to talk that trade-off through before you order.

Questions we get asked about this inverter
What is the difference from the 1.0 – 3.0 kW range?
Two MPP trackers instead of one, a wider 40 – 560 V MPPT window, 16 A per tracker instead of 15 A, IP66 instead of IP65, and a quieter 25 dB. Physically it is a larger case at 12.8 kg.
Is the isolator included?
Yes, factory fitted.
What size array does it suit?
3.6 kWp to 9.0 kWp DC across the range.
What warranty?
10 years as standard.
Can I add a battery?
Not directly. It is a grid-tied PV inverter; an AC-coupled battery is the usual route.
