Tigo Access Point (TAP)

Tigo Access Point (TAP) is a communication gateway from Tigo.

The TAP is Tigo's wireless access point, and the link between TS4 optimisers and the Cloud Connect Advanced. Optimisers talk to the TAP over radio; the TAP talks to the CCA over wired RS485. It replaces the older Tigo Gateway and does the same job.

It uses a mesh: every TS4 optimiser acts as a repeater, so the signal hops from optimiser to optimiser along whatever path works. Provided no two optimisers are more than 10 m apart, the TAP's total reach including those hops is about 35 m — which is what makes it practical on a roof where nothing is in line of sight of anything else.

Registration with the Tigo monitoring service is required for module-level monitoring.
