Tesla Powerwall 3 Expansion Harness — One per Expansion — the harness the Expansion will not run without.
A Powerwall 3 Expansion is a battery and nothing else. It has no inverter and no grid connection, so it reaches the house only through the Powerwall 3 it is harnessed to.
About the Tesla Powerwall 3 Expansion Harness
That harness is this part. It runs from the Powerwall 3 to the first Expansion, and from that Expansion on to the next if more than one is fitted — one harness per Expansion, every time.
Three lengths are made. The 0.5 m is for units stacked or hung immediately beside each other, the 2 m covers a normal wall run with a gap or a corner, and the 4 m is for the awkward garage where the Expansion cannot go next to the Powerwall.
Order the shortest length that reaches. Coiled spare cable in a wiring compartment is never an improvement.
What does this fit?
This is the DC link between a Powerwall 3 and an Expansion, or between two Expansions.
An Expansion has no connection to the house at all. Everything it stores travels down this harness to the Powerwall 3, so one harness is required per Expansion and the Expansion cannot be commissioned without it.

What the job needs
The details that decide whether this suits the system:
- One harness per Expansion unit, without exception.
- 0.5 m, 2 m and 4 m are the lengths available. Tesla parts 1875157-05-D, 1875157-20-D and 1875157-40-D.
- The harness is not included in the Expansion packages — it is always a separate order.
- The wall mounting kit includes nine cable management straps for dressing the harness; the stacking kit does not need them.
- Up to three Expansions per system, so up to three harnesses.
Where this earns its place
The Powerwall 3 Expansion Harness is specified most often for these jobs.

Questions we get asked about this inverter
How many harnesses do I need?
One per Expansion. A Powerwall 3 with two Expansions needs two.
Is a harness included with the Expansion?
No. Neither the Expansion nor the mounting packages include it.
Which length should I order?
The shortest that reaches. 0.5 m for stacked or immediately adjacent units, 2 m for a normal wall run, 4 m where the Expansion has to go somewhere else.
Can I join two harnesses together?
No. Order the length the run needs.
