Sunsynk Three phase SG04LP3 — 12 kW of three-phase output and a 24 kW peak, from a 48 V bank.
A hybrid inverter does three jobs a string inverter cannot. It converts solar DC to AC; it charges and discharges a battery on the DC side, which avoids the double conversion an AC-coupled battery pays for; and when the grid fails it islands the site and keeps the essential-load output alive from the battery.
About the Sunsynk Three phase SG04LP3
The SG04LP3 is the current three-phase Classic. On the 12 kW the battery moves up to 240 A, the PV side takes 15.6 kW across two trackers with a wide 160 – 800 V window, and the stand-alone output peaks at 24 kW for ten seconds — which is what starts three-phase machinery on an off-grid site.
Sunsynk build these around two output terminals rather than one: an essential-load output that stays live in a power cut, and a non-essential-load output that does not. That split is why the range is specified so often for sites that actually want to keep working through an outage rather than merely to store cheap electricity.
Which battery does this inverter take?
This inverter takes Low voltage, 40 – 60 V, lead-acid or lithium-ion.
This model has a battery voltage window of 40 – 60 Vdc (48 V nominal).
This rule applies to the Sunsynk ECCO, Classic, Acure and MAX single phase, and the SG04LP3 three phase.
Charging strategy self-adapts to the battery BMS. Maximum charge and discharge current is model-specific and runs from 70 A on the 3 kW ECCO to 290 A on the 16 kW MAX.

The details that decide whether this unit suits the job:
- Battery is 48 Vdc nominal, 40 – 60 Vdc, 240 A maximum charge and discharge on the 12 kW.
- PV input is 550 Vdc nominal within 160 – 800 Vdc, with a 200 – 650 Vdc MPPT window. Input current is 26 A + 13 A and Isc 34 A + 17 A, so the two trackers are not symmetrical — plan the strings accordingly.
- Maximum PV input power is 15,600 W against a 12,000 W rating.
- Grid side: 18.2 A rated and 27.3 A maximum per phase, 13,200 W maximum input and output power, 75 A maximum AC Isc.
- Stand-alone: 12,000 W rated with a 24,000 W peak for 10 seconds and a 45 A maximum continuous passthrough.
- Power factor is adjustable 0.95 leading to 0.95 lagging.
- For Pylontech, REVOV or Hubble Lithium the BMS cable is SUN-CAN-3M; for Freedom Won it is F-WON-CAN-SUN. Neither is included.
- Warranty registration must be completed within seven days of commissioning or the cover can be void.

Things worth knowing about this listing
- A Wi-Fi dongle is included.
- Installer notice: installations using Sunsynk products now need to be registered with Sunsynk. UK only: a change to the G98 and G99 regulations has meant some manufacturers had to resubmit type test certificates to the ENA, which may delay applications, though manufacturers do not expect it to.
- Compatible with most lithium-ion and lead-acid batteries.
- This product must be installed by a qualified electrician or technician. All installations must adhere to local wiring regulations and standards. ClearRay Solar will not be held liable for any product malfunctions as a result of incorrectly installed systems.
- The BMS cable is battery specific and is not included: SUN-CAN-3M for Pylontech, REVOV and Hubble Lithium, F-WON-CAN-SUN for Freedom Won. Ask us and we will send the right one with the inverter.
- Register the installation with Sunsynk within seven days of commissioning. Warranty registration after that window can be refused, and the cover made void.

Which battery?
A 48 V nominal bank inside 40 – 60 Vdc. At 240 A the DC cabling and the bank's own continuous rating usually govern the design.
Are the two MPP trackers the same?
No. One takes 26 A and the other 13 A, with 34 A and 17 A short circuit currents. Put the bigger array on the bigger tracker.
What can it start off grid?
24 kW for ten seconds, from the stand-alone output, which covers most three-phase motor starting on a small site.
Which BMS cable?
SUN-CAN-3M for Pylontech, REVOV and Hubble Lithium; F-WON-CAN-SUN for Freedom Won.
