Solax Trene 100kW 215kWh Air Cooling AC-coupled ESS Cabinet
SolaX Trene C&I ESS cabinet — 215 kWh per cabinet behind a 100 kW PCS, with four-level fire safety and an EMS built in.
Commercial storage is a different calculation from domestic storage. The question is not whether the evening peak is covered but how much of a site's load profile can be moved, how hard the cabinet can be cycled, and what happens to the rest of the building when the grid goes.
About the SolaX Trene C&I ESS cabinet
Trene is SolaX's answer: a high-density LFP cabinet rated at 215 kWh with a 100 kW X3-TRENE power conversion system, quoted for a life beyond ten years and designed to run single or multiple cabinets.
The energy management system is part of the product rather than a bolt-on. It monitors cells, the PCS and the fire protection in real time, and schedules autonomously against local electricity prices — which is what makes peak shaving and VPP participation practical without a separate controller.
Safety is four-level, with IP66 on the inverter and IP55 on the cabinet, Type II surge protection on the AC side and LFP cells throughout.
What does this work with?
This is a commercial AC-coupled cabinet: 215 kWh of LFP in HR140 packs with a 100 kW X3-TRENE PCS and its own energy management system.
AC coupled, so it sits alongside whatever generation the site already has rather than taking an array itself. The built-in EMS handles scheduling, and it is VPP-ready through SolaX Cloud with wireless meter support.
Cabinet, PCS and grid connection
The details that decide whether this suits the system:
- PCS is the X3-TRENE-100K: 100 kW rated, 110 kVA maximum apparent, 144.4 A rated output current, 3/N/PE at 220/380 V or 230/400 V.
- AC input is up to 110 kVA and 160 A. Power factor adjustable to 1 from 0.8 lagging to 0.8 leading, THDi under 3 % at rated power.
- Battery window at the PCS is 600 – 876 V with a maximum charge and discharge current of 160 A.
- Battery packs are HR140: 14.3 kWh, 1P16S, 51.2 V rated, 40 – 58.4 V window, 115 kg, charge and discharge at up to 0.5 C, IP20, CAN to the PCS, 461 × 228 × 778 mm.
- PCS is 665 × 950 × 310 mm and 85 kg, IP66, smart air cooled, non-isolated, with RS485, CAN, Ethernet and DI.
- −30 to +55 °C ambient with derating above +45 °C, up to 3,000 m, 0 – 95 % non-condensing.
- Four-level fire safety, Type II surge protection on the AC side, IP66 inverter and IP55 cabinet.

Questions we get asked about this inverter
Does it take a solar array?
No. Trene is AC coupled: it works alongside the generation already on site rather than converting an array itself.
What is in a cabinet?
215 kWh of LFP in HR140 packs, the X3-TRENE-100K power conversion system, the energy management system and the fire protection.
Can it trade against tariffs?
Yes — the EMS schedules autonomously against local electricity prices and supports 7×24 time-of-use operation.
What are the ingress ratings?
IP66 on the inverter and IP55 on the cabinet.
How far does it scale?
SolaX quote scalability to megawatt-hours across multiple cabinets.
