Solis S6 150kW 3 Phase Grid Tied Inverter 7x MPPT

Solis · S6-GC 150K Commercial Three Phase

Solis S6 150kW 3 Phase Grid Tied Inverter 7x MPPT

Solis S6-GC 150K Commercial Three Phase — 150 kW, seven trackers at 54 A each, and night SVG as standard.

This is the largest string inverter Solis make for this platform and it is built for one thing: getting the most kilowatts onto a roof or a field with the fewest boxes. Seven MPP trackers, 21 string inputs, and 54 A per DC input — a current rating that comfortably swallows paralleled strings of large-format bifacial modules without a combiner box in sight.

Overview

About the Solis S6-GC 150K Commercial Three Phase

Night SVG is fitted as standard rather than offered as an option, so the inverter can provide reactive power support after dark. On a connection of this size that is increasingly something the DNO asks for in the offer, and having it built in avoids a separate STATCOM.

Optional extras worth knowing about: AFCI 2.0 arc-fault detection, PID recovery, and three-phase unbalanced output control, which lets the unit allocate power per phase on demand rather than splitting it evenly. It is IP66, intelligently fan cooled, rated from −30 °C, and weighs 105 kg.

For the installer

String design, certification and what is in the box

The details that decide whether this unit suits the job:

  • 7 MPP trackers, 21 string inputs, 54 A per DC input, 75 A short circuit per tracker group.
  • 1,100 V maximum, 180 V start-up, 160 – 1,000 V MPPT window.
  • Integrated DC switch fitted as standard; AFCI 2.0 and PID recovery optional.
  • Night SVG function fitted as standard.
  • Three-phase unbalanced output control available as an option, for allocating power per phase.
  • AC connection is an OT terminal to 400 mm². 105 kg — plan lifting and access.
  • Certified to G99, IEC 61727, EN 50549-1/2 and VDE 4110.
Applications

Where this inverter earns its place

The S6-GC 150K Commercial Three Phase is specified most often for these jobs.

Industrial rooftopsWhere the array is measured in hundreds of kilowatts and inverter count drives install cost.
Ground mount and solar farmsTen trackers per unit reduces combiner boxes and DC trenching.
Bifacial installationsDesigned around the higher string current bifacial modules actually produce.
Agricultural estatesMultiple large buildings on one connection.
Corporate PPA sitesRemote firmware upgrade and string-level data suit assets under a long-term performance obligation.
Cold-store and data-adjacent sitesContinuous daytime base load absorbs generation without export constraint.
Battery and storage

Can I add a battery to this?

This is a grid-tied PV inverter. It converts solar DC into AC for the property and the grid, and it has no battery port. That is not a shortcoming — it is the right architecture for a system without storage, and it is why it costs what it does.

If storage is on the roadmap, you have two routes. Add an AC-coupled battery system alongside this inverter later, which works with any PV inverter and needs no change to what is already installed. Or choose a hybrid inverter now and pay for a battery port you will use in a year or two. We are happy to talk that trade-off through before you order.

Frequently asked questions

Questions we get asked about this inverter

Why 54 A per input?

So that paralleled strings of high-current bifacial modules can come back on one home run without a combiner box. At 21 inputs that removes a lot of DC infrastructure from a large array.

What is night SVG?

Static VAr generation outside generating hours. The inverter supplies or absorbs reactive power at night, which several DNOs now require in the connection offer at this scale.

What does three-phase unbalanced output do?

It allocates power to each phase on demand rather than splitting evenly, which is useful on grids or sites where the phases carry very different loads. It is an option, not standard.

Is AFCI included?

AFCI 2.0 is optional on this model. Specify it if your insurer or client asks for arc-fault detection.

How heavy is it?

105 kg. This is a mechanical handling and access job, not a wall hang.
