A hybrid inverter does three jobs a string inverter cannot. It converts solar DC to AC; it charges and discharges a battery on the DC side, which avoids the double conversion an AC-coupled battery pays for; and when the grid fails it islands the site and keeps a backup circuit alive from the battery.

How much battery can it take?
Two ports, 100 A each, on a 300 – 950 V stack, and Solis quote compatibility with 100 Ah to 314 Ah cells. That is a large stack by domestic standards and the reason this unit is specified for arbitrage rather than self-consumption.
Can it work alongside an existing grid-tied inverter?
Yes. It supports AC coupling as well as DC, and the smart port accepts other sources including generators and wind, so an existing PV system does not have to be replaced.
How many can be paralleled?
Up to ten. Above six units Solis recommend one of their power distribution cabinets rather than direct paralleling.
Why does the source line say Preliminary?
Because the datasheet Solis published for this range carries a Preliminary watermark. We would rather tell you that than present provisional figures as final. Ask us and we will confirm any number you are designing to.

Yes, up to the maximum DC power figure in the specifications. Modest oversizing is normal practice - it lifts output in winter and at either end of the day, at the cost of brief clipping at midday peak.
An MPPT tracks the optimum operating point for a string of panels. You want one per roof orientation or pitch, because panels facing different directions on a single tracker drag each other down.
