Solis Single Phase 5kW Low Voltage AC-Coupled Inverters
Solis S6-EA1P AC-coupled inverter — Adds a 48 V battery to an existing single-phase system, at 3.6 to 6 kW.
An AC-coupled battery inverter exists for one situation: there is already a working solar system, and replacing the inverter to add a battery would mean throwing away something that works. It sits on the AC side instead, charges the battery from the existing array or from the grid, and leaves the original inverter alone.
About the Solis S6-EA1P AC-coupled inverter
The S6-EA1P is Solis's low-voltage version. It moves 3.6, 5 or 6 kW between the AC side and a 40 to 60 V battery at up to 125 A, with a battery charge and discharge efficiency above 93.5 %.
It is high-frequency isolated, IP66 and naturally cooled, rated to 4,000 m, with a quick-connection AC plug and a terminal block on the DC side.
There is no EPS output on this model: it is a self-consumption and tariff-shifting machine, not a backup one.
What does this work with?
This is an AC-coupled battery inverter for a 48 V low-voltage battery, with no PV input and no backup output.
The battery is a 40 – 60 V low-voltage lithium-ion pack over CAN, at 75 to 125 A depending on model. There is no PV input. If the cable run from the power source to the inverter exceeds 15 m, the SOL-METER-1PH-EASTRON is required.
Battery, metering and what it will not do
The details that decide whether this suits the system:
- No PV input and no EPS output. If backup is part of the brief, this is the wrong product.
- Battery is lithium-ion, 40 – 60 V, over CAN, at 75 A on the 3.6 kW, 105 A on the 5 kW and 125 A on the 6 kW.
- If the run from the power source to the inverter exceeds 15 m, the SOL-METER-1PH-EASTRON is required.
- Battery charged or discharged to AC maximum efficiency is above 93.5 %.
- 440 × 465 × 192 mm and 19.9 kg, IP66, natural cooling, high-frequency isolated topology.
- −25 to +60 °C, up to 4,000 m. LED indicator with Bluetooth and app; RS485 and CAN, with Wi-Fi and LAN optional.
- Grid connection to C10/11, EN 50549, G98, G99, VDE 4105 and AS 4777.2.
Where this earns its place
The S6-EA1P AC-coupled inverter is specified most often for these jobs.
Things worth knowing about this listing
- If the run from the power source to the inverter exceeds 15 m, the SOL-METER-1PH-EASTRON is required.
- No EPS output and no AC backup on this model. If backup power is part of the brief, this is the wrong product.

Questions we get asked about this inverter
Will it give me backup in a power cut?
No. The S6-EA1P has no EPS output. If backup matters, choose a hybrid or an AC-coupled inverter that has one.
Can I connect solar to it?
No, it is AC coupled — the array stays on the inverter that already converts it.
Does it need a meter?
If the run from the power source to the inverter is longer than 15 m, the SOL-METER-1PH-EASTRON is required.
What battery does it take?
A 40 to 60 V lithium-ion battery over CAN, at up to 125 A on the 6 kW model.
Can it go outside?
Yes, IP66 with natural cooling.
