Sigenergy SigenStack Battery Controller M2-0.5C BOOST

Sigenergy SigenStack Battery Controller — M2-0.5C or M2-0.5C BOOST — and on most systems only the BOOST will start.

The battery controller is the interface between a SigenStack tower and the hybrid inverter in front of it: 180 A in and 180 A out, on a 550 to 1,100 V window, with CAN to the inverter.

About the Sigenergy SigenStack Battery Controller

The suffix is the part that catches people out. BST stands for boost, and a controller carrying it can raise the battery voltage to the inverter's start-up voltage. One without it cannot.

That turns into a hard rule. If the system has PV, the BST controller is always the one to fit. If it has no PV and fewer than nineteen battery modules, BST is still essential. Only a large, PV-free system can use the plain M2-0.5C.

The 0.5C in both names is the nominal charge and discharge rate: 157 A nominal on the 0.5C controllers against 314 A on the 1C.
