Sigenergy Power Sensor Three Phase External 300A CT DH

Sigenergy Sigen Power Sensor — The meter the whole system reasons from — pick it by phase, by CT and by where it has to fit.

A storage system that cannot measure the supply cannot do anything useful with it. Charge from surplus, discharge to cover the house, hold export under a G99 limit — all of it starts with a meter at the origin, and on a Sigenergy system that meter is the Sigen Power Sensor.

Overview

About the Sigenergy Sigen Power Sensor

It reports over RS485 Modbus RTU at 9,600 baud and integrates with Sigenergy devices with no configuration, which is the practical reason to fit the manufacturer's own meter rather than a generic Modbus one.

The choice comes down to three things. Single or three phase, to match the supply. Direct connection or external CTs — direct is neater but caps the service current, CTs suit anything larger or any board where the tails cannot be broken into. And whether the unit needs a display: the DH variants read out on the front, which is worth having on a commissioning visit.

At the top of the range the Rogowski version replaces clamps with flexible coils, which is the only practical way to meter a large or irregular busbar — and it scales to 1,000 A on a 6 m lead.

Compatibility

What does this fit?

This is the meter a Sigenergy system uses to see what the property is importing and exporting.

Every Sigenergy storage system needs a power sensor at the origin of the supply. It is what makes self-consumption, export limiting and anti-backflow possible, and it talks to the inverter over RS485 Modbus RTU. Pick single or three phase to match the supply, then pick the connection: direct, through split CTs, or through Rogowski coils on a busbar.

What the job needs

The details that decide whether this suits the system:

  • All models: RS485, Modbus RTU, 9,600 baud. Voltage accuracy 0.5 %, power accuracy 1 %. IP20, DIN rail 35 mm, −25 °C to +65 °C, 0 – 90 % relative humidity.
  • Single phase is 1P2W; three phase is 3P3W or 3P4W.
  • Direct-connection models are limited to 100 A of service current. Above that, or where the tails cannot be broken, use a CT model.
  • CT leads are 1 m. The CT decides the measuring range, so order the variant whose CT matches the service: 300 A and 600 A three-phase versions are listed separately.
  • The Rogowski version uses three coils on 6 m leads, spans 30 Hz to 5 kHz, and refreshes in 50 ms, which is what makes it usable for anti-backflow on a busbar.
  • The Sigen Sensor Sub1G Kit adds 868 MHz wireless between the sensor and the system, tested to 200 m in open space and much less through walls. It is a separate part.
  • Standard compliance is EN 61010-1:2010 and EN 61010-2-030:2010.
Applications

Where this earns its place

The Sigen Power Sensor is specified most often for these jobs.

Single-phase homesDirect connection up to 100 A.
Larger domestic servicesExternal CTs instead of direct.
Three-phase properties3P3W or 3P4W, three CTs.
Commercial boards at 300 or 600 AThe matching CT version.
Busbars and odd conductorsRogowski coils, up to 1,000 A.
Export-limited connectionsThe meter anti-backflow reads.

Frequently asked questions

Questions we get asked about this inverter

Do I need one of these?

Yes. A Sigenergy system meters the origin of the supply through a Sigen Power Sensor; without it there is no self-consumption control, no export limit and no anti-backflow.

Direct connection or CTs?

Direct is simpler and is rated to 100 A of service current. Use CTs above that, or wherever the incoming tails cannot be broken into.

What does DH mean?

Those models carry an LCD on the front for real-time readings, which is useful at commissioning and when fault-finding later.

Which CT rating do I need?

Match it to the service. We list 300 A and 600 A three-phase versions, and a Rogowski version that scales to 1,000 A for busbars.

Can it be wireless?

With the Sigen Sensor Sub1G Kit, yes — 868 MHz, up to 200 m in open space, considerably less through walls. It is ordered separately.
