Sigenergy M1 50kW Hybrid Inverter HYA
Sigenergy Sigen Hybrid Inverter M1 HYA — Battery-ready C&I: 100 units in parallel with no data logger, and 253 kWh of SigenStack behind one inverter.
A hybrid inverter does three jobs a string inverter cannot. It converts solar DC to AC; it charges and discharges a battery on the DC side, which avoids the double conversion an AC-coupled battery pays for; and when the grid fails it islands the house and keeps the backup output alive from the battery.
About the Sigenergy Sigen Hybrid Inverter M1 HYA
The M1 HYA is Sigenergy's commercial and industrial machine, and its defining choice is that it ships battery ready rather than battery fitted. The port is there from day one, so a site can put the PV in now and add up to 21 SigenStack modules — 253 kWh — when the business case for storage arrives, without changing the inverter.
The EMS is built in and up to 100 units run in parallel with no data logger at all: any inverter in the array can act as host. On a large site that removes a control layer, its cabling and its failure modes.
It is the smallest and lightest inverter in its power class, which matters when it has to be carried up scaffolding: 72 kg at 50 kW. AFCI covers up to 600 m of string, and the rating is IP66.
Which battery does this inverter take?
This inverter takes SigenStack BAT 12.0.
This rule applies to the Sigen Hybrid Inverter M1 HYA, 50 to 125 kW.
4 to 21 modules. Maximum operating current 180 A.
What we stock that fits this inverter:
String design, battery limits and what is in the box
The details that decide whether this unit suits the job:
- Battery is SigenStack BAT 12.0, 4 to 21 modules, with a maximum operating current of 180 A. The inverter is battery ready but the battery is a separate order.
- MPP trackers by model: 4 on the 50 kW, 5 on the 60 kW, 6 on the 80 kW and 8 on the 100, 110 and 125 kW, two strings each at 40 A and 60 A short circuit.
- 1,100 V maximum DC, 600 V nominal, 180 V start-up, 160 – 1,000 V MPPT window.
- PV input is twice the AC rating on most models: 100 kWp on the 50 kW, 220 kWp on the 110 and 125 kW.
- Maximum charge and discharge power equals the maximum apparent output — 55 kW on the 50 kW unit, 137.5 kW on the 125 kW.
- Up to 100 units in parallel with no data logger; any inverter can be the host.
- PV connection is MC4 or H4 Pro to 6 mm²; AC is an OT or DT terminal to 240 mm².
- 50 to 110 kW are 918 × 640 × 340 mm and 72 to 78 kg; the 125 kW is 999 × 668 × 340 mm and 95 kg.
- Altitude to 5,000 m with derating from 4,000 m. Type II DC surge protection is fitted, Type I + II is optional.
Where this hybrid earns its place
The Sigen Hybrid Inverter M1 HYA is specified most often for these jobs.

Ordered with this inverter more often than anything else
A hybrid is the middle of a system, not the whole of it. These are the parts our customers add most often:
Questions we get asked about this inverter
Does it come with a battery?
No. It is battery ready: the port is fitted and the EMS is built in, and you add SigenStack BAT 12.0 modules — 4 to 21 of them, up to about 253 kWh — when you want them.
Do I need a data logger to parallel them?
No, and that is one of the reasons to choose the platform. Up to 100 units run in parallel with the EMS built in, and any inverter can act as the host for the whole system.
How much PV can it take?
Twice the AC rating on most models: 100 kWp on the 50 kW and 220 kWp on the 110 and 125 kW, across 4 to 8 MPP trackers at 40 A each.
What is the AFCI range?
Sigenergy quote arc-fault detection over 600 m of string, which is unusually long and is aimed at commercial layouts where the string runs are long.
