SolarEdge 3,000 - 10,000W Home Hub Inverter - MultiRange Concept - Single phase

SolarEdge · Home Hub Single Phase (MultiRange)

3,000 - 10,000W Home Hub Inverter - MultiRange Concept - Single phase

SolarEdge Home Hub Single Phase (MultiRange) — One part number, any power class from 2.2 kW to 10 kW, and whole-home backup.

The Home Hub is SolarEdge's storage inverter, and the MultiRange concept behind this part number is genuinely useful rather than marketing. One physical unit, SE10000H-RWSKBF57, is commissioned on site to any rating between 2.2 kW and 10 kW using SolarEdge Go. An installer carries one part number instead of eight; a distributor stocks one line; a specification change on the day of the install is a menu selection rather than a re-order.

Overview

About the SolarEdge Home Hub Single Phase (MultiRange)

As a storage inverter it manages PV production, battery charge and discharge, backup operation during a power cut, and smart energy devices such as a SolarEdge EV charger — all in one box, with one app. Up to three SolarEdge Home Battery 400V units connect to it, each contributing 5,000 W of continuous power.

Backup is a real whole-home capability rather than a socket: with the separately purchased SolarEdge Home Backup Interface it supports service up to 100 A and up to three single-phase inverters in parallel. During an outage it can deliver up to 10,000 W at 50 Hz. It can also charge the battery from the grid where the tariff allows, which is how you make an off-peak import tariff pay.

For the installer

String design, certification and what is in the box

The details that decide whether this unit suits the job:

  • IMPORTANT: this inverter takes the SolarEdge Home Battery 400V. It does NOT take the 48V Home Battery, which is for the three-phase Home Hub. Ordering the wrong one is the most common and most expensive mistake on this platform.
  • One part number commissioned to the rating you need — 2.2 kW to 10 kW — using SolarEdge Go.
  • Backup requires the SolarEdge Home Backup Interface, purchased separately.
  • DC side: 3 × MC4 pairs for PV, 1 × MC4 pair for the battery. Maximum input 480 Vdc, nominal 380 Vdc.
  • Requires SolarEdge power optimisers on every module.
  • Backup power in outage is selectable from 3,000 W to 10,000 W on every model — size the protective device and cable CSA for the setting you choose, not for the nameplate.
  • 535 × 370 × 185 mm, 19.6 kg, IP65, natural convection, under 25 dBA.
Applications

Where this inverter earns its place

The Home Hub Single Phase (MultiRange) is specified most often for these jobs.

Solar plus storage retrofitsOne inverter replaces a PV inverter and a battery inverter.
Whole-home backupWith the Backup Interface, up to 100 A service and up to 10 kW during an outage.
Time-of-use tariff arbitrageCharges the battery from the grid where permitted, so cheap off-peak import can cover the evening peak.
Heat pump and EV homesManages PV, battery and a SolarEdge EV charger from one controller.
Rural properties with poor supply reliabilityBackup operation is the reason to buy this rather than a plain PV inverter.
Installers standardising stockOne part number covers every power class in the range.
Battery and storage

Can I add a battery to this?

This inverter has a battery port. It takes SolarEdge Home Battery 400V — up to 3 per inverter, 5,000 W continuous each.

Battery architecture is not interchangeable. A high-voltage inverter cannot use a 48 V low-voltage battery and vice versa, whatever a compatibility list says, so check the voltage before you order. If you are not certain, ask us and we will confirm it against your part number.
Before you order

Things worth knowing about this listing

These notes come from us and from the manufacturer, and they are the ones that most often cause a problem after delivery:
  • Backup operation is subject to local regulations and requires a connection to the SolarEdge Home Batteries and the SolarEdge Home Backup Interface.

Frequently asked questions

Questions we get asked about this inverter

Which battery does it take?

The SolarEdge Home Battery 400V, up to three of them. It does not take the SolarEdge Home Battery 48V — that is for the three-phase Home Hub. Please check with us before ordering if you are unsure.

How much backup power do I get?

Up to 10,000 W at 50 Hz, selectable down to 3,000 W. That is enough for a normal household including a fridge, freezer, lighting, boiler and sockets. Heat pumps and electric showers need specific consideration.

Do I need the Backup Interface?

Yes, for whole-home backup. It is a separate product and is not included with the inverter.

Can I charge the battery from the grid?

Yes, where local regulations allow. In the UK that makes off-peak EV tariffs usable for the whole house.

Do I still need optimisers?

Yes, on every PV module.

What is the warranty?

12 years standard on the inverter, extendable to 25.

What does MultiRange mean for my order?

You are buying one part number, SE10000H-RWSKBF57, and the installer sets it to the power class your DNO agreement and array need at commissioning.
