SolarEdge S1400 Power Optimizer (Short Input 0.1m)
S1400 Power Optimizer (Short Input 0.1m) is a SolarEdge S1400 power optimiser rated 1,400 W, for up to two high power or bifacial modules in series, supplied with a 0.1 m short input lead.
A power optimiser is a DC-DC converter that sits behind an individual PV module, between the module and the string. It tracks that one module's maximum power point continuously, so a module that is shaded, soiled, differently oriented or simply weaker than its neighbours no longer drags the whole string down to its own output. The optimiser then presents a fixed, well-behaved voltage to the string, which is what allows longer strings and mixed orientations on the same inverter.
The S-series commercial optimisers take two modules in series through a single input, which halves the number of optimisers, brackets and connections on a large roof or field array. Fewer cables, fewer fuses and fewer combiner boxes for the same installed capacity.
It also reports each module's performance back to the monitoring platform, so a fault is traced to a single module rather than to a string, and it drops the module's DC voltage to a touch-safe level automatically whenever the inverter or the grid shuts down — SolarEdge call this SafeDC.

Before you order
- The S1400 is designed for inverters that do not have integrated DC fuses. Inverters that do have them must be adjusted manually before the S1400 can be used.
- If paired with any of the fused commercial inverters, the fuses inside must be replaced with SE-FLD-3PH-NEUTRAL-LINK — one for each fuse, so 4 × SE-FLD-3PH-NEUTRAL-LINK per Manager unit.
