Overview

About the Pylontech Battery communication units

A single PowerCube H2 stack is managed by the SC1000 BMS at 1000 V and 100 A, which comes with its own orange 160 mm and black 2,000 mm power cables.

Several PowerCube stacks working together need the MBMS1000, which is the controller that makes multiple stacks one battery as far as the inverter is concerned.

On the low-voltage side the LV-Hub is the CAN and RS485 hub for parallel 48 V battery groups. It manages up to five groups of sixteen — US2000C, US3000C or UP5000 — and it is required from the seventeenth battery onward on any system that needs communication.

For warranty purposes Pylontech treat the LV-Hub as a component of the battery system, so it is covered by the battery warranty terms rather than a separate accessory warranty.

Compatibility

What does this fit?

This is the controllers that let several battery groups or stacks behave as one system.

Each of these serves a different scale. The LV-Hub is needed from the seventeenth low-voltage battery onward. The MBMS1000 controls multiple PowerCube stacks. The SC1000 is the BMS for a single PowerCube H2 stack at 1000 V and 100 A.

What the job needs

The details that decide whether this suits the system:

  • LV-Hub: required when 17 or more batteries are used on a system that requires communication. It manages up to 5 groups, each of 16 US2000C, 16 US3000C or 16 UP5000.
  • LV-Hub interface is CAN and RS485. For warranty purposes it is treated as a component of the battery system and covered by the battery warranty terms.
  • MBMS1000: the BMS controller for multiple PowerCube battery stacks.
  • SC1000: the BMS for PowerCube H2 batteries at 1000 V and 100 A. It is supplied with 1 orange 160 mm power cable and 1 black 2,000 mm power cable.
  • All three must be installed by a qualified electrician or technician.

Up to five groups, each of sixteen US2000C, US3000C or UP5000 — so up to eighty.

Is the LV-Hub covered by the battery warranty?

Yes. For warranty purposes Pylontech treat it as a component of the battery system.

What is the difference between the SC1000 and the MBMS1000?

The SC1000 is the BMS for a PowerCube H2 stack at 1000 V and 100 A. The MBMS1000 is the controller for multiple PowerCube stacks working together.

Does the SC1000 come with cables?
