Pylontech Force H3 BMU with base and cables

Pylontech Battery management units — One per tower — and the HV and LV units are not the same part.

A Pylontech tower is modules stacked on a base with the battery management unit underneath. The BMU balances the modules, talks to the inverter and enforces the limits; without it the stack is a pile of cells.

Overview

About the Pylontech Battery management units

The Force H3 BMU serves the high-voltage line: 5.12 kWh modules, two to seven per tower for 10.24 to 35.8 kWh, up to six towers in parallel for 215 kWh at up to 864 V. It is a 1C system, designed for 8,000 cycles or fifteen years, with 24/7 app monitoring.

The Force L2 BMU is the low-voltage equivalent and is external to the stack. Each one takes two to four Force L2 batteries and is required for communication across the whole Force L2 system.

Neither includes batteries, and neither will manage the other line's modules.

Compatibility

What does this fit?

This is the management unit and base a Pylontech tower is built on.

One BMU per tower, and the two are not interchangeable: the Force H3 BMU is for the high-voltage Force H3 tower, and the Force L2 BMU is for the low-voltage Force L2, where each BMU takes two to four batteries.

What the job needs

The details that decide whether this suits the system:

  • One BMU per tower. They are not interchangeable between the Force H3 and Force L2 lines.
  • Force H3: 5.12 kWh modules, 2 to 7 per tower, up to 6 towers in parallel, up to 864 V, 1C rating, 8,000+ cycles or 15 years.
  • Force L2: each BMU takes 2 to 4 Force L2 batteries and is required for communication across the system.
  • On the Force L2 BMU the mounting rails have changed — the four long angles previously supplied are now short angles, and the manufacturer's revised instructions are in progress.
  • Battery modules are always a separate order.
Applications

Where this earns its place

The BMU is chosen by the battery line it manages.

Frequently asked questions

Questions we get asked about this inverter

Does it include batteries?

No. Modules are a separate order.

How many modules does one BMU manage?

On the Force H3, two to seven per tower. On the Force L2, two to four batteries.

Can I use the Force H3 BMU on a Force L2 system?

No. They are different lines and different parts.

What changed on the Force L2 mounting rails?

The four long angles previously included have been replaced by short angles. Pylontech's revised mounting instructions are in progress.
