A home battery stores the solar your house does not use at the moment it is generated, and gives it back in the evening. What decides whether that is worth doing is not the headline capacity but three numbers together: how much of the pack you may actually use, how fast it will charge and discharge, and how many cycles it is good for.

About the Pylontech Force H3 high voltage stack

The Force H3 is Pylontech's high-voltage answer. Each FH10050 module is 102.4 V and 5.12 kWh, and two to seven of them stack into a system from 10.2 kWh to 35.8 kWh at 204.8 to 716.8 V. Higher voltage means lower current for the same power, which means thinner DC cable and less resistive loss than a 48 V bank doing the same job.

Charge and discharge is 50 A recommended and 52 A maximum, whatever the stack height — so a taller stack does not charge faster, it charges longer. Up to six systems run in parallel where more is needed.

IP55, so it tolerates a garage or a sheltered outdoor position better than a rack module, and it talks CANBUS or Modbus RTU.

Inverter compatibility

Which inverter will run this battery?

This is a high-voltage stack, 204.8 to 716.8 V depending on how many modules are in it.

High-voltage hybrids only. Solis list the Force H3 on their HV compatibility list, where the SolisCloud battery option is PYLON_HV, and it suits other high-voltage platforms with a window wide enough for the stack you build. It cannot be used on a 48 V low-voltage inverter under any circumstances.

  • Module is the FH10050: 102.4 V, 50 Ah, 5.12 kWh. A stack is two to seven modules plus the BMU.
  • System voltage by stack height: 204.8 V at two modules rising to 716.8 V at seven. Check that against the inverter's battery window before you decide the stack height.
  • Charge and discharge current is 50 A recommended, 52 A maximum, regardless of stack size.
  • Depth of discharge 95 %. Cycle life over 8,000 at 25 °C, design life 15+ years.

Questions we get asked about this inverter

Will it work with my inverter?

Only with a high-voltage hybrid whose battery window covers the stack voltage you are building — 204.8 V at two modules up to 716.8 V at seven. Solis list it as Force-H3 with the option PYLON_HV. It will not work on a 48 V inverter.

Does a bigger stack charge faster?

No. Charge and discharge current is 50 A recommended and 52 A maximum whatever the stack height, so a taller stack stores more but fills at the same rate.

How much is usable?

95 % of the nominal figure — 9.7 kWh of a 10.2 kWh stack, 34 kWh of a 35.8 kWh one.

Can it go outdoors?

It is IP55, which suits a garage or a sheltered position. Full exposure to weather still needs an enclosure.

How many systems can I parallel?

Up to six.

Usable energy is the nominal capacity multiplied by the depth of discharge, and both figures are in the Technical Specifications. Most current lithium batteries allow 90% or more.

It needs to appear on your inverter manufacturer's approved battery list and the voltage ranges have to match. Send us your inverter model and we'll confirm compatibility before you order.

Most systems stack in modules up to a maximum number of units per installation, given in the datasheet. Keep to the same model, and buy the full stack together where budget allows.

Only where the IP rating and operating temperature range allow it - both are in the Technical Specifications. Cold reduces usable capacity, so a garage or utility space is usually the better location.

Yes, where the inverter supports timed or forced charging. Paired with a time-of-use tariff this is often the quickest route to a shorter payback.
