A genuine Stäubli in-line fuse for MC4 and MC4-Evo 2 connectors, TUV certified and rated to 1,000 V or 1,500 V DC.
String fusing is what stops a fault in one string being fed by every other string in parallel. On any array with three or more strings in parallel it is not optional, and an in-line fuse in the string cable is the cleanest way to do it — no combiner box, no enclosure, no extra terminations.

Stäubli invented the MC4 connector, and their own connectors are the only ones that should be mated with this fuse. Mixing connector brands is the single most common cause of the overheating joints that start rooftop DC fires.

Questions we get asked about this inverter
Do I need string fuses?
If you have three or more strings in parallel, yes. With two strings, a fault in one can only be fed by the other, and most modules survive that. With three or more, the combined back-feed can exceed the module's reverse current rating.
Can I use it with any MC4 connector?
No. Stäubli are explicit that only genuine Stäubli connectors should be mated with it. Cross-mating different manufacturers' MC4-style connectors is a known cause of high-resistance joints and fires, and it will usually void both warranties.
Which current rating do I need?
It depends on your module's series fuse rating and your string design. The rating is printed on the product and its packaging. Ask us if you are unsure.
