JA Solar BluePlanet Liquid-Cooled C&I Energy Storage System – 125 kW – 261 kWh
JA SOLAR BluePlanet liquid-cooled C&I ESS — 261 kWh and 125 kW in one liquid-cooled cabinet, and twenty of them in parallel.
Air cooling is what limits most commercial cabinets. Cells at different points in the rack sit at different temperatures, the spread drives them apart over time, and the cabinet ages at the rate of its worst cell.
About the JA SOLAR BluePlanet liquid-cooled C&I ESS
Liquid cooling is the answer to that. The BluePlanet holds the pack at or below 35 °C with a temperature variance of 3 °C or less across it, and takes about 10 % off the auxiliary power the thermal system consumes in doing it.
That discipline is what supports the numbers on the rest of the sheet: 8,000 cycles of life from 314 Ah LFP cells, 95 % depth of discharge, and a round-trip efficiency of up to 88 % at system level.
Safety is three-tier. Pack-level and cabinet-level detection with aerosol suppression, an explosion-proof design, real-time thermal runaway warning, real-time insulation monitoring and millisecond-level response.
Up to twenty cabinets run in parallel, which puts a site past 5 MWh on the same architecture, managed over MODBUS-TCP/IP or MODBUS-RTU.
What does this work with?
This is a liquid-cooled commercial storage cabinet with the battery, the conversion and the thermal management in one enclosure.
A complete C&I cabinet: 261 kWh of LFP behind 125 kW, on a 380 / 400 Vac three-phase connection. Up to twenty cabinets run in parallel, so a site scales past 5 MWh without changing the architecture.

What the job needs
The details that decide whether this suits the system:
- 261 kWh nominal at 832 Vdc, 728 to 936 Vdc operating, 95 % depth of discharge, 0.5 P nominal charge and discharge rate.
- 125 kW nominal power, 380 / 400 Vac ±15 % three phase, 3P4W plus PE, 50 / 60 Hz, power factor 1.0 leading to 1.0 lagging.
- 989 × 1,465 × 2,473 mm and 2,700 kg. Check the floor loading, the crane access and the route in before ordering.
- Liquid cooled, IP55, C4M anti-corrosion, −30 °C to +50 °C, 0 to 95 % RH non-condensing.
- Fire suppression is pack-level and cabinet-level detection with aerosol, plus an explosion-proof design and thermal runaway warning.
- Up to twenty units in parallel. Communication is MODBUS-TCP/IP and MODBUS-RTU.
- Certified to IEC 62619, IEC 63056, IEC 60730, IEC 62477, IEC 61000, UL 9540A and UN 38.3.

Questions we get asked about this inverter
Why liquid cooling?
It holds the pack at or below 35 °C and keeps the spread across cells to 3 °C or less, which is what protects cycle life. It also cuts auxiliary power consumption by around 10 % against air cooling.
How much of the 261 kWh can I use?
Depth of discharge is 95 %.
How many can I parallel?
Up to twenty units, which takes a site past 5 MWh.
What is the round-trip efficiency?
Up to 88 % at system level.
What does it weigh?
2,700 kg, in a cabinet 989 × 1,465 × 2,473 mm. Plan the lift and the floor.
What fire protection does it have?
Three tiers: pack-level and cabinet-level detection with aerosol suppression, an explosion-proof design, and real-time thermal runaway warning.
