GROWATT MIN 2500TL XH2 Dual MPPT with DC
GROWATT MIN 2500TL XH2 Dual MPPT with DC
Growatt MIN TL-XH2 — The second-generation hybrid: wider MPPT, IP66, and up to 30 kWh of storage.
The XH2 is the current generation of Growatt's single-phase hybrid, and the changes over the original XH are all in the right places. The MPPT window opens at 40 V instead of 70 V, which matters on short strings and dull mornings. Input current rises to 16 A per tracker for modern high-current modules. Ingress protection goes from IP65 to IP66. And the battery options widen: as well as the ARK XH stack it now supports the APX 5.0–30.0P-S0 range, taking maximum storage from 17.9 kWh to 30 kWh.
About the Growatt MIN TL-XH2
It is still a high-voltage hybrid — the battery port runs at 360 – 550 V and works with Growatt's own high-voltage packs. A 48 V battery such as a Pylontech US-series will not work with it, and no adapter changes that.
Backup output is provided through a SYN 50-XH-10 accessory rather than being built in, and AFCI needs activating after installation. Warranty is 5 years standard with a 10-year option.
String design, certification and what is in the box
The details that decide whether this unit suits the job:
- HIGH VOLTAGE battery only — 360 – 550 V. ARK XH Battery System or APX 5.0–30.0P-S0. Not compatible with any 48 V low-voltage battery.
- Two MPP trackers, one string each, 16 A per tracker, 24 A Isc, 50 V start-up, 40 – 540 V MPPT window.
- Backup power requires a SYN 50-XH-10 accessory.
- AFCI is fitted but must be activated after installation.
- IP66, 375 × 350 × 160 mm, 10.8 kg, operating from −30 °C.
- UKCA marked, with G98/G99, EN 50549-1, CEI 0-21 and VDE-AR-N 4105 on the certification list.
Where this inverter earns its place
The MIN TL-XH2 is specified most often for these jobs.
Can I add a battery to this?
This inverter has a battery port. It takes Growatt ARK XH Battery System (5.12 – 17.9 kWh) or APX 5.0–30.0P-S0 (5 – 30 kWh), 360 – 550 V high voltage.

Questions we get asked about this inverter
Will a Pylontech or other 48 V battery work?
No. This is a high-voltage hybrid with a 360 – 550 V battery port. Low-voltage 48 V batteries are a different architecture entirely and cannot be connected, with or without an adapter. If you want to use a Pylontech, choose a low-voltage hybrid inverter — ask us and we will point you at one.
What is the difference between ARK and APX?
ARK XH is the modular 2.56 kWh stack, from 5.12 kWh to 17.9 kWh on single phase. APX 5.0–30.0P-S0 is the newer range and goes to 30 kWh. Both are high voltage and both work with this inverter.
What changed from the XH to the XH2?
MPPT window from 70 – 550 V down to 40 – 540 V, input current from 13.5 A to 16 A per tracker, IP65 to IP66, operating temperature down to −30 °C, and the APX battery option up to 30 kWh.
Does it give me backup power in an outage?
Only with the SYN 50-XH-10 accessory. The inverter on its own has no EPS output.
Do I need to do anything about AFCI?
Yes — the arc-fault function must be activated after installation. Make sure your installer does it.
Do you stock the batteries?
We do not currently list the Growatt ARK or APX ranges. Ask us and we will quote them alongside the inverter.
