Fox ESS 15.0kW T Series 3PH Dual Tracker PV Inverter

Fox ESS · T Series (G3)

Fox ESS 15.0kW T Series 3PH Dual Tracker PV Inverter

Fox ESS T Series (G3) — 6 kW to 25 kW three phase, 1,100 V, 98.6 % peak.

The T Series is Fox ESS's three-phase string range and it sits in the size band that most commercial UK rooftops actually occupy — 6 kW to 25 kW, where the array is bigger than a house but smaller than a warehouse. Farm buildings, workshops, village halls, offices and large rural houses on three-phase supplies.

Overview

About the Fox ESS T Series (G3)

It runs at a 1,100 V system voltage with a 140 – 1,000 V MPPT window, so strings can be long: fewer strings, less DC cable, fewer terminations. Two independent trackers throughout, with one string each up to 12 kW and two strings each from 15 kW.

Peak efficiency is 98.6 % with a 97.8 % Euro-weighted figure. PV string current monitoring is included as standard, which on a commercial array is the difference between finding a dead string this week and finding it next year.

For the installer

String design, certification and what is in the box

The details that decide whether this unit suits the job:

  • 1,100 V maximum input, 140 V start-up, 140 – 1,000 V MPPT window — long strings, few of them.
  • Two trackers throughout: 14 A each with 1+1 strings to 12 kW; 28 A each with 2+2 strings from 15 kW.
  • PV string current monitoring included as standard on every model.
  • DC switch and AFCI are options; DC/AC Type II surge protection is fitted.
  • Certified to AS/NZS 4777.2, C10/11, EN 50549-1, VDE-AR-N 4105, RD 1699, CEI 0-21 and VDE V 0126-1-1.
  • 370 × 480 × 183.5 mm; 20 to 21 kg; under 55 dB, so it is fan cooled — keep it out of quiet spaces.
Applications

Where this inverter earns its place

The T Series (G3) is specified most often for these jobs.

Farm and agricultural buildingsBig roofs on three-phase rural supplies.
Workshops and light industrial unitsGeneration matched to the working day.
Village halls, churches and community buildingsGrant-funded installs that need clean G99 paperwork.
Large houses on three-phase suppliesArrays past what single phase will carry.
Commercial car portsLong low-current strings suit the wide MPPT window.
Multi-building sitesOne T Series per building rather than long DC runs to a central inverter.
Battery and storage

Can I add a battery to this?

This is a grid-tied PV inverter. It converts solar DC into AC for the property and the grid, and it has no battery port. That is not a shortcoming — it is the right architecture for a system without storage, and it is why it costs what it does.

If storage is on the roadmap, you have two routes. Add an AC-coupled battery system alongside this inverter later, which works with any PV inverter and needs no change to what is already installed. Or choose a hybrid inverter now and pay for a battery port you will use in a year or two. We are happy to talk that trade-off through before you order.

Things worth knowing about this listing

These notes come from us and from the manufacturer, and they are the ones that most often cause a problem after delivery:
  • You must register the installation with Fox ESS online to activate the 10 year product warranty. Without registration it is 5 years as standard. See the warranty document in the Documents tab for the registration link and the full terms.

Frequently asked questions

Questions we get asked about this inverter

Which models take two strings per tracker?

From the T15-G3 upward. Below that it is one string per tracker, at 14 A. The 15 kW and above take 28 A per tracker across two strings.

Is it noisy?

It is fan cooled and quoted under 55 dB. Fine in a plant room or on an external wall; not ideal next to an office window.

Do I need string monitoring?

On anything commercial, yes. It is included here as standard, and it is what turns 'the system seems down a bit' into a specific string to check.

Can I export limit it?

Yes — G100 is on the certification list and export limitation is supported.

Battery?

No. The T Series is grid-tied PV only.
