Fox ESS HV BMS — One per stack, minimum two batteries — and V1 and V2 do not mix.
An HV2600 stack needs a BMS above it, one per stack, with a minimum of two batteries. It is required on AC charger and hybrid models and is not needed on a Fox AIO all-in-one, which has its management built in.

About the Fox ESS HV BMS
Then there is the generation problem, and it is the most important thing on this page. Global material shortages forced Fox to supply the V2 range with a different internal communication chip. The consequence is that the newer range cannot communicate with the older range or the other way round.
In practice: the V1 BMS will not work with an HV2600 V2 battery at all. V1 and V2 products cannot be mixed within the same system, whatever the quantities. And the V2 BMS is the one that works with both FE-HV2600 and FE-HV2600-V2.
So on any new installation, and on any system where the battery generation is not certain, the V2 BMS is the safe order.

Which BMS do I need?
The V2 BMS is compatible with both FE-HV2600 and FE-HV2600-V2. The V1 BMS works only with V1 batteries and will not work with a V2.
Can I mix V1 and V2 batteries?
No. Fox supplied the V2 range with a different internal communication chip because of global material shortages, so the two generations cannot communicate and cannot be mixed within the same system.
How many do I need?
