Fox ESS - EMS to parallel multiple H3 Pro Inverters in a system
Fox ESS EPS, junction and EMS boxes — Backup, parallel batteries or parallel inverters — three boxes, three different problems.
Three boxes, and the one that catches people out is the last.

About the Fox ESS EPS, junction and EMS boxes
The EPS Box is whole-home backup for a single-phase Fox system. It switches automatically between on-grid and off-grid, takes up to 100 A of input current, and is a wall-mounted IP65 metal enclosure. It suits the H1-G2, KH and EVO inverters.
The HV Junction Box parallels up to four EP series batteries — EP5/6 and EP11/12 — scaling a system to 40 kWh on one connection, and it is IP65 as well.
The EMS is the Smart Communication Box, and it is the one to know about at quoting stage: running multiple H3 Pro inverters on a single site requires it. A site designed around parallel H3 Pro units without an EMS in the schedule will not commission.
What does this fit?
This is the boxes that give a Fox system backup, parallel batteries or parallel inverters.
Three different jobs. The EPS Box switches a property between on-grid and off-grid for whole-home backup. The HV Junction Box parallels up to four EP series batteries. The EMS is what allows multiple H3 Pro inverters to run in parallel — and without it, they cannot.

What the job needs
The details that decide whether this suits the system:
- EPS Box SP: IP65 metal enclosure, wall mounted, maximum input current 100 A, automatic on-grid and off-grid switching. Compatible with H1-G2, KH and EVO inverters.
- HV Junction Box: parallels up to four EP series batteries (EP5/6 and EP11/12), scalable to 40 kWh, IP65.
- The EMS is required for the parallel function — installing multiple H3 Pro units on a single site. It is an additional order, not part of the inverter.
- If a customer bought parallel-capable products before April 2024 without being told an EMS was needed, Fox can supply it directly.
- Register the installation with Fox ESS online to activate the 10-year product warranty. Without registration it is 5 years as standard.
Where this earns its place
Each box adds a different capability to the system.
Things worth knowing about this listing
- The parallel function — installing multiple H3 Pro units on a single site — requires this additional EMS.
- If you have already sold products to customers requiring parallel functionality who were not aware of this, refer them to Fox, who can supply it directly to them (before April 2024).

Questions we get asked about this inverter
Which inverters does the EPS Box work with?
H1-G2, KH and EVO.
How many batteries will the junction box parallel?
Up to four EP series batteries — EP5/6 and EP11/12 — scalable to 40 kWh.
Do I need the EMS to parallel H3 Pro inverters?
Yes. The parallel function requires an additional EMS. Without it, multiple H3 Pro units cannot run on a single site.
What if a customer was not told about the EMS?
For products sold before April 2024, Fox can supply the EMS directly — refer the customer to them.
