Fox ESS Fox G-Max Plus All in One, 125kW with 241kWh
Fox G-Max Plus All in One, 125kW with 241kWh
Fox ESS G-Max Plus all-in-one — 241 kWh with a hybrid front end, a 155 kVA ten-second peak and a 300 A bypass.
Commercial storage is a different calculation from domestic storage. The question is not whether the evening peak is covered but how much of a site's load profile can be moved, how hard the cabinet can be cycled, and what happens to the rest of the building when the grid goes.
About the Fox ESS G-Max Plus all-in-one
G-Max Plus is the hybrid version of the G-Max cabinet: 241 kWh of LFP on a 3.2 V / 314 Ah cell in 60.29 kWh packs, with a PV input of up to 250 kW on eight MPP trackers and a backup output rated at the full machine.
The EPS side is what distinguishes it on a commercial site. It peaks at 155 kVA for ten seconds with a 300 A locked-rotor current and a switching time under 10 ms, which is what starting motor loads on backup actually requires.
Liquid cooled, IP55, C4 corrosion protection as standard and C5 optional, with smoke and heat detection, an alarm sounder, cabinet-level and pack-level aerosol and an explosion vent.
What does this work with?
This is a liquid-cooled commercial all-in-one with a PV input: 241 kWh of LFP, a hybrid conversion system and an EPS output in one outdoor cabinet.
Unlike the AC-coupled G-Max, the Plus takes an array directly: 200 or 250 kW of PV across eight MPP trackers, with a 300 A bypass and an EPS output rated at the full machine. It is diesel generator compatible and up to twenty-five units run in parallel on-grid.
Array, cabinet and backup
The details that decide whether this suits the system:
- Battery is LFP 3.2 V / 314 Ah in 60.29 kWh packs, 241 kWh of system capacity, 672 – 876 V, 190 A maximum charge and discharge.
- PV: 1,000 V withstand, 180 – 950 V input range, 180 V start-up, 750 V nominal, 180 – 850 V MPPT window, 40 A a tracker and 50 A short-circuit, eight trackers with two strings each.
- AC input up to 207 kVA with a 300 A maximum bypass current.
- EPS peaks at 155 kVA for ten seconds with a 300 A locked-rotor current and a switching time under 10 ms.
- Round-trip efficiency 89.5 %, maximum efficiency 98.0 %, depth of discharge 0 to 100 %, cycle life at least 8,000 to 70 % end of life.
- Up to twenty-five units in parallel on-grid and ten off-grid; parallel switching cabinets are required for six to ten units off-grid.
- 1,040 × 2,230 × 1,500 mm and under 2,600 kg. Liquid cooling, IP55, C4 standard and C5 optional.
- Diesel generator compatible. Ethernet and 4G. −25 to +55 °C, up to 3,000 m, under 75 dB at 1 m.

Questions we get asked about this inverter
What is the difference from the plain G-Max?
The Plus takes a PV array directly — up to 250 kW on eight trackers — and carries an EPS output with a 300 A bypass. The G-Max is AC coupled with no PV input.
How many can I parallel?
Twenty-five on-grid and ten off-grid. Six to ten off-grid need parallel switching cabinets.
Will it start motor loads on backup?
That is what the 300 A locked-rotor rating and the 155 kVA ten-second peak are for, with a switching time under 10 ms.
How much of the 241 kWh can I use?
Fox quote 0 to 100 % depth of discharge, at 89.5 % round-trip efficiency.
Can it run with a generator?
Yes, the cabinet is diesel generator compatible and has a separate AC input for grid or generator.
