An Engage or Q Cable is manufactured with a fixed number of drops. If the array uses fewer microinverters than the cable has connectors, every unused connector must be capped — an open connector on a roof will take water, corrode, and eventually fault the whole branch.

Do I really need these?
Yes, on every unused connector. An uncapped connector is an open path for water into the cable and is a warranty issue as well as a reliability one.
How many will I need?
One per unused connector on the cable. Count the drops on the cable, subtract the microinverters, and order that many.
Is there a multi-pack?
Yes — we list a pack of 10 as well.
