Dyness PowerDepot H5B G2 5.12kWh LV LFP Battery
Dyness PowerDepot H5B G2 — 5.12 kWh at IP66, 95 % usable and rated for 8,000 cycles.
A battery pays for itself by moving energy in time: solar generated at midday and electricity bought on an overnight rate, both spent in the evening. What decides whether it pays is the usable capacity, the charge rate and the cycle life, in that order.
About the Dyness PowerDepot H5B G2
The PowerDepot H5B G2 is the weatherproof end of Dyness's 48 V range: 5.12 kWh, 4.86 kWh usable at a 95 % depth of discharge, and IP66 rather than IP20 or IP65.
It is also the longest-lived module here at 8,000 cycles or ten years, with a built-in aerosol fire extinguisher and built-in WiFi.
Wall mounted or floor standing, indoors or out, and on the same long inverter compatibility list as the rest of the Dyness range.
What each stack size gives you
Modules go in parallel at 48 V. Dyness's literature for this model quotes a range up to five modules:
Which inverter will run this battery?
This is a 48 V low-voltage battery, the architecture most low-voltage hybrid inverters sold in the UK are built around.
Dyness publish a compatible inverter list rather than a compatibility matrix: SMA, Schneider, Victron Energy, Ingeteam, Solis, GoodWe, Growatt, Solplanet, Luxpower, DEYE and others. What it will never work with is a high-voltage hybrid — a 48 V battery and a 300 – 900 V one are different architectures and no adapter bridges them. Send us the inverter model and we will confirm against Dyness's current list before you order.

Stack rules, cabling and what else the job needs
The details that decide whether this battery suits the system:
- 51.2 V nominal, 44.8 – 57.6 V operating, 100 Ah.
- 50 A recommended, 75 A charge, 100 A discharge maximum, 120 A for 10 minutes peak.
- Depth of discharge 95 %, so 4.86 kWh of the 5.12 kWh is usable.

- 660 × 450 × 165 mm and 54.4 kg.
- Charge 0 °C to +55 °C, or −20 °C with the optional heating function; discharge −20 °C to +55 °C.
- CAN / RS485 to the inverter. IP66, outdoor or indoor.
- IP66 — the highest ingress rating in the Dyness range and one of the highest in this collection. Outdoor or indoor, wall mounted or floor standing.
- 8,000 cycles or ten years, against 6,000 on the DL5.0C modules.
- Built-in aerosol fire extinguisher and built-in WiFi with app over-the-air updates.
- The datasheet allows up to fifty modules in parallel; Dyness's own product literature for this model quotes a 5.12 to 25.6 kWh range. Ask us before designing beyond five modules.
Where this battery earns its place
The PowerDepot H5B G2 is specified most often for these jobs.
Things worth knowing about this listing
- Dyness quote a 5.12 to 25.6 kWh scalable range for this model, while the datasheet allows up to fifty modules in parallel. Ask us before designing beyond five.

Questions we get asked about this inverter
Will it work with my inverter?
Very probably, if it is a low-voltage hybrid. Dyness list SMA, Schneider, Victron, Ingeteam, Solis, GoodWe, Growatt, Solplanet, Luxpower and DEYE among others. Send us the model and we will check.
How much of it can I actually use?
4.86 kWh, at the 95 % depth of discharge Dyness recommend.
How many can I put together?
Up to 50. Most homes fit one to four.
Can it be charged in the cold?
Charging normally stops at 0 °C. The heating function extends it to −20 °C, which matters because that is when an overnight tariff is cheapest.
