100A Split-core current transformer (CT for Envoy-S Metered )

100A Split-core current transformer (CT for Envoy-S Metered ) is a current transformer from Enphase, rated at 100 A.

A current transformer clips around a live conductor and reports the current flowing through it, without breaking into the circuit. On a solar or battery installation it is what lets the inverter see what the rest of the property is doing — how much is being imported, exported or generated — and that measurement is the input for the two features people actually buy the system for: export limitation, and charging a battery from surplus generation rather than from the grid.

Sizing matters. The CT has to be rated for the maximum current of the conductor it goes around, and it has to be the type the inverter or meter expects — mixing a CT from one manufacturer with another's meter usually gives readings that look plausible and are wrong.
