Pair of BATCAB35-1M cables
Eland Pair of BATCAB35-1M cables
Pair of BATCAB35-1M cables is a pair of battery cables — 35 mm², 1 m for battery storage systems.
| 1 x BATCAB35-1M | 35mm2 Battery Cable (H01N2-D) 1m - Black | |
| 1 x BATCAB35-1M-RED | 35mm2 Battery Cable (H01N2-D) 1m - Red | |
Battery cable is not ordinary cable. The DC side of a storage system runs at low voltage and high current, so conductor size is set by current and by acceptable voltage drop rather than by the load in watts, and the connection has to survive years of thermal cycling without the termination loosening. Undersized or badly terminated battery cable is one of the few faults in a solar installation that can start a fire rather than simply stop working.
Which is why these are sold as made-up assemblies of a stated length and polarity: the manufacturer has already decided the conductor size, the terminal and the crimp for the battery it belongs to.
Specification

| Colour | One black, one red |
| Cable standard | BS EN 50525-2-81 (previously BS 638 Part 4, CENELEC HD22.6, VDE 0282-6), BS EN 60332-1-2 |
| Conductor | Class 6 flexible copper to BS EN 60228 |
| Separator | PET polyester tape |
| Sheath | Rubber compound, type EM5 to BS EN 50363 |
| Voltage rating | 100 V |
| Temperature rating | Fixed −40 °C to +85 °C; flexed −20 °C to +85 °C |
| Minimum bending radius | 6 × overall diameter, flexed |
| Nominal cross-sectional area | 35 mm² |
| Nominal insulation thickness | 2 mm |
| Nominal overall diameter | 12.5 mm |
| Nominal weight | 384 kg/km |
| Current rating, 100% duty cycle | 225 A at 25 °C ambient, 85 °C maximum conductor temperature |
| Compliance | RoHS |
The current rating is quoted for a 100% duty cycle at 25 °C ambient with an 85 °C maximum conductor temperature, taken from HD 516 S2. A welding cable's rating rises sharply at lower duty cycles; for a battery installation, which draws continuously, the 100% figure is the one that applies.
Additional suggested items
A battery cable is rarely ordered on its own:
- 35mm2 Battery Cable (H01N2-D) 1m - Black — the black negative cable of the pair
- 35mm2 Battery Cable (H01N2-D) 1m - Red — the red positive cable of the pair

Usable energy is the nominal capacity multiplied by the depth of discharge, and both figures are in the Technical Specifications. Most current lithium batteries allow 90% or more.
It needs to appear on your inverter manufacturer's approved battery list and the voltage ranges have to match. Send us your inverter model and we'll confirm compatibility before you order.
Most systems stack in modules up to a maximum number of units per installation, given in the datasheet. Keep to the same model, and buy the full stack together where budget allows.
Only where the IP rating and operating temperature range allow it - both are in the Technical Specifications. Cold reduces usable capacity, so a garage or utility space is usually the better location.
Yes, where the inverter supports timed or forced charging. Paired with a time-of-use tariff this is often the quickest route to a shorter payback.
Warranty terms, and the throughput or cycle count they are based on, are listed under the Warranty tab and in the manufacturer documentation.
