myenergi libbi Battery Pack 5kWh

myenergi libbi battery pack — 5.12 kWh a pack, up to four packs, and it talks to the rest of the myenergi kit.

A battery pays for itself by moving energy in time: solar generated at midday and electricity bought on an overnight rate, both spent in the evening. What decides whether it pays is the usable capacity, the charge rate and the cycle life.

Overview

About the myenergi libbi battery pack

libbi is myenergi's own storage, and the reason to choose it is usually the ecosystem rather than the cell: it talks to a zappi charger and an eddi diverter, so surplus solar is allocated between the car, the hot water and the battery by one controller rather than three that ignore each other.

Each pack is 5.12 kWh with 4.6 kWh usable at a 90 % depth of discharge. Up to four go in parallel, which is 20.48 kWh, and the packs we sell in twos, threes and fours include the cable expansion kit that matches the count.

It works AC or DC coupled, so it can take a new array directly or sit alongside an existing one. IP65, 54 kg a pack.

Inverter compatibility

Which inverter will run this battery?

This is a myenergi libbi battery module, part of the libbi hybrid system.

5 kWh per module, up to four modules for 20 kWh. Works AC or DC coupled, so it can take a new PV array directly or retrofit alongside an existing one.

Stack rules, cabling and what else the job needs

The details that decide whether this battery suits the system:

  • 5.12 kWh a pack, 4.6 kWh usable at a 90 % depth of discharge. Up to four packs in parallel, 20.48 kWh.
  • 51.2 V nominal, 44.8 – 56.5 V operating. 50 A maximum charge and 80 A maximum discharge. Maximum short-circuit current 125 A.
  • A multi-pack system needs the matching cable expansion kit; the packs of two, three and four on this site include it.
  • −10 to +50 °C operating, storage −20 to +50 °C, humidity 0 – 95 %.
  • 540 × 490 × 240 mm and 54 kg a pack. IP65.
  • The continuous power figure on this page is the battery's. The libbi hybrid inverter is 3.68 kW or 5 kW, so the inverter sets what the system actually delivers, not the pack count.
  • The libbi controller is indoor-mounted, 230 V single phase, with Ethernet, WiFi, RS485 and a 100 A grid current sensor.
  • Cycle life is quoted as unlimited subject to the warranty criteria — read the warranty document rather than assuming a cycle count.
Applications

Where this battery earns its place

The libbi battery pack is specified most often for these jobs.

Things worth knowing about this listing

These notes come from us and from the manufacturer, and they are the ones that most often cause a problem after delivery:
  • Up to four battery packs in parallel, 20.48 kWh. A multi-pack system needs the cable expansion kit that matches the pack count.
  • libbi shares surplus solar with the rest of the myenergi range — a zappi charger and an eddi diverter are allocated from the same controller.

Frequently asked questions

Questions we get asked about this inverter

Why buy libbi rather than a cheaper battery?

Because of what else is on the wall. libbi allocates surplus solar between a zappi charger, an eddi diverter and the battery from one controller. If you have none of those, the case is weaker.

How much of the 5.12 kWh can I use?

4.6 kWh, at a 90 % depth of discharge.

How many packs can I fit?

Four, which is 20.48 kWh. The multi-pack listings include the cable expansion kit for that count.

Is the cycle life really unlimited?

myenergi publish it as unlimited subject to the warranty criteria. Read the warranty document on this listing for what those are.

Can it go outside?

The battery pack is IP65. The controller is indoor only.
