Dyness Stack100 HV 5.12 kWh Battery

Dyness Stack100 high voltage — 5.12 kWh a module, three to fifteen a stack, up to 921.6 kWh across twelve stacks.

A battery pays for itself by moving energy in time: solar generated at midday and electricity bought on an overnight rate, both spent in the evening. What decides whether it pays is the usable capacity, the charge rate and the cycle life, in that order.

Overview

About the Dyness Stack100 high voltage

The Stack100 is Dyness's high-voltage module: 5.12 kWh at 51.2 V and 100 Ah, with a 95 % depth of discharge and at least 8,000 cycles. Three to fifteen go in series, making 15.36 to 76.8 kWh at 134 to 864 V.

Series wiring is the point. Raising the voltage drops the current for the same power, which means thinner cable, smaller losses and less heat — and it is what a high-voltage hybrid needs. Up to twelve stacks run in parallel, which is 921.6 kWh.

The frame is built into the modules, so there is no separate rack to buy, and an aerosol fire extinguisher is fitted as standard.

What each stack size gives you

Three modules is the smallest stack and fifteen the largest:

Inverter compatibility

Which inverter will run this battery?

This is a high-voltage stack: 51.2 V modules wired in series to between 134 and 864 V.

This is a high-voltage module and belongs on a high-voltage hybrid. Dyness list Ingeteam, Solis, GoodWe, Growatt, Solplanet, SAJ, DEYE, Hoymiles and SOLINTEG among the compatible inverters. It will not work on a 48 V low-voltage hybrid, and a 48 V battery will not work in its place. Send us the inverter model and we will confirm before you order.

Stack rules, cabling and what else the job needs

The details that decide whether this battery suits the system:

  • Three to fifteen modules a stack: 15.36 to 76.8 kWh at 134 to 864 V.
  • 50 A recommended charge and discharge at 0.5 C, 100 A maximum at 1 C, 125 A peak for two minutes at 1.25 C.
  • Up to twelve stacks in parallel, 921.6 kWh.
  • Rack-less: the steel frame is built into the modules and carries the load. Stack type installation with forced-air cooling.
  • A stack is 590 mm wide and 390 mm deep; height is 233 mm plus 133 mm a module, so a fifteen-module stack is 2,228 mm. 47 kg a module.
  • Charge 0 to 55 °C, or −20 to 55 °C with the optional heating. Discharge −20 to 55 °C.
  • IP20 and forced-air cooled — a plant room, not an outside wall.
  • Built-in aerosol fire extinguisher, built-in WiFi with app over-the-air updates, CAN and RS485 to the inverter.

Things worth knowing about this listing

These notes come from us and from the manufacturer, and they are the ones that most often cause a problem after delivery:
  • A Stack100 system is three to fifteen modules in series. One module on its own will not run.

Frequently asked questions

Questions we get asked about this inverter

Is one module a battery?

No. A Stack100 system is three to fifteen modules in series. Three is the minimum that will run, at 15.36 kWh.

Will it work with my inverter?

Only if it is a high-voltage hybrid. Dyness list Ingeteam, Solis, GoodWe, Growatt, Solplanet, SAJ, DEYE, Hoymiles and SOLINTEG. Send us the model and we will confirm.

Do I need a rack?

No. The steel frame is built into the modules, which is one of the reasons to choose this over a rack-mounted high-voltage battery.

How much can I use?

4.86 kWh a module, at the 95 % depth of discharge Dyness recommend.

Can it go outside?

No. It is IP20 and forced-air cooled, so it needs an indoor plant space.
