The JA Solar JAM54D41 LB 450 W is an N-type mono solar panel. It delivers 22.5 % module efficiency from a 1,762 × 1,134 mm frame.

About the JA Solar Deep Blue 4.0 Pro range

Deep Blue 4.0 Pro is JA Solar's n-type platform, using Bycium+ cells with a better temperature coefficient, lower light-induced degradation and improved low-light behaviour than the p-type modules it replaces.

At 1,762 × 1,134 mm it is a residential-format module, sized to fit the rafter spans and roof planes of a standard UK house. The black frame and dark cells keep the array visually quiet on a front-facing roof. Being bifacial, it earns most of its extra yield on flat roofs, ground mounts and light-coloured surfaces, where light reaches the back of the module; on a pitched tiled roof the rear-side gain is small.

Why installers specify this panel

  • −0.290 %/°C power temperature coefficient — output falls away more slowly as the modules heat up through the middle of the day.
  • Bifacial, 80 % ±10 % — the rear face adds generation from reflected and diffuse light, which suits flat roofs, ground mounts and light-coloured surfaces.
  • Hail tested: Hail Resistance Class 4 (HW4) — relevant for exposed and upland UK sites.
  • Reinforced load rating, 8,000 Pa front / 5,000 Pa back — for high-snow and high-wind locations.
  • All-black appearance — a black anodised frame and dark cells, for domestic roofs where the array has to be discreet.
  • 0 to +3 % power tolerance — every module is sorted to meet or beat its 450 W nameplate rating.

Array sizing

Each panel covers 2.00 m². A 4 kWp array needs 9 of them (4.05 kWp over about 18 m²). A 6 kWp array needs 13 of them (5.85 kWp over about 26 m²). At 28.0 kg each they are a two-person lift.
