The MIN TL-XH is the hybrid version of Growatt's dual-tracker single-phase platform: solar in, battery in and out, grid in and out, all from one wall-mounted box. It covers 2.5 kW to 6 kW with 98.4 % peak efficiency and dual MPP trackers.

About the Growatt MIN TL-XH

The important thing to understand before buying is the battery architecture. This is a HIGH VOLTAGE hybrid: the battery port operates at 360 – 550 V and it is designed for the Growatt ARK XH Battery System, from 5.12 kWh up to 17.9 kWh in 2.56 kWh modules. It will not work with a 48 V low-voltage battery such as a Pylontech US-series, a Dyness DL5.0C or a Fox LV52. Those are excellent batteries; they are simply the wrong architecture for this inverter.

Within its own ecosystem it is a capable unit: 6,000 W maximum charge power, discharge matched to the model's AC rating, and 24-hour self-consumption monitoring. Backup output requires a separate Backup Box accessory.

String design, certification and what is in the box

The details that decide whether this unit suits the job:

  • HIGH VOLTAGE battery only — 360 – 550 V operating range, ARK XH Battery System (2 to 7 × ARK 2.5H-A1 modules in series).
  • Do NOT specify a 48 V low-voltage battery with this inverter. It is not a compatibility list question; the DC architecture is different.
  • ARK series batteries have an EU model and a General model. Storage inverters sold in European countries only work with the EU model ARK battery.
  • Backup power requires a separate Backup Box accessory.
  • Two MPP trackers, one string each, 13.5 A per tracker, 20 A Isc; 100 V start-up, 70 – 550 V MPPT window.
  • Type II DC and Type III AC surge protection, AFCI, DC switch and insulation monitoring all fitted.

Battery and storage

Can I add a battery to this?

This inverter has a battery port. It takes Growatt ARK XH Battery System only, 5.12 kWh to 17.9 kWh, 360 – 550 V high voltage.

Battery architecture is not interchangeable. A high-voltage inverter cannot use a 48 V low-voltage battery and vice versa, whatever a compatibility list says, so check the voltage before you order. If you are not certain, ask us and we will confirm it against your part number.
Before you order

Things worth knowing about this listing

These notes come from us and from the manufacturer, and they are the ones that most often cause a problem after delivery:
  • To achieve the anti-reflux (export limitation) function on the TL-X and TL-XE range you must use the Growatt SPM-E meter. A CT clamp cannot do it. Contact us for details.
  • UK only: this inverter is tested and certified to G99 only for units with the most recent firmware and hardware version. Please check that the unit you are buying meets that criteria, and if in doubt update the inverter firmware before commissioning.

Frequently asked questions

Questions we get asked about this inverter

Can I use a Pylontech battery with this?

No. The MIN TL-XH is a high-voltage hybrid with a 360 – 550 V battery port and works with the Growatt ARK XH Battery System. Pylontech US-series and other 48 V batteries are low-voltage and physically cannot be used here. If a low-voltage battery is what you want, choose a low-voltage hybrid inverter instead — talk to us and we will point you at one.

Which ARK sizes fit?

From ARK5.1XH (2 modules, 5.12 kWh) to ARK17.9XH (7 modules, 17.92 kWh) on a single-phase system. Each module is an ARK 2.5H-A1 at 2.56 kWh, 51.2 V and 28 kg.

Do I need the EU model battery?

Yes. Storage inverters sold in European countries only work with the EU model ARK battery, not the General model.

Does it do backup during a power cut?

Only with a separate Backup Box accessory. The inverter alone does not provide an EPS output.

We do not stock ARK batteries — can you get them?

Ask us. We do not currently list the Growatt ARK XH range, but we can quote it alongside the inverter.
