470W N-Type High-Efficiency Solar Panel

The JAM54D-40-470-LR series uses N-Type monocrystalline cell technology combined with MBB half-cell architecture to achieve a high power output of 470Wp and module efficiency of up to 23.5%.

N-Type technology is designed to reduce Light-Induced Degradation (LID), helping maintain reliable long-term module performance. The panel is also designed to provide improved energy generation under lower irradiance conditions, making it well suited to the variable light conditions commonly experienced across the UK.

Double-Glass Monofacial Construction

This JA Solar module uses a double-glass construction rather than a conventional glass-and-backsheet configuration. The dual-glass design provides a robust enclosure for the solar cells and is designed for long-term exposure to outdoor environmental conditions.

The module has a compact footprint of approximately 1,762mm × 1,134mm and weighs approximately 22kg. Installers should ensure that the selected solar mounting system is compatible with the panel dimensions, weight and the manufacturer's approved mounting and clamping requirements.

Important: This is a monofacial solar panel. It is designed to generate electricity primarily from light received on the front of the module and should not be treated as a bifacial module when calculating expected system generation.

1,500V DC System Rating

Divide your inverter's maximum input voltage by the panel's open-circuit voltage (Voc), then leave headroom - Voc rises as temperature falls, so size for the coldest morning rather than the average day.

Panels ship with their factory leads fitted; the connector type and cable length are both listed in the Technical Specifications. Extension leads and additional connectors are ordered separately.

Bypass diodes limit the loss to the affected section rather than the whole panel. Where shading is persistent, panel-level optimisers or micro-inverters recover considerably more yield - ask us and we'll spec it.
